Excellent! Newly into them so a bit jealous. Glad it met expectations. You've earned that chair so it's good that they responded appropriately.

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
As promised, here's some pictures from the Beths show on Friday. I was next to a guy who was there escorting his 13 year old daughter. He didn't know much about the band but was totally into it by the end. I told him he was going to have to go buy his daughter a guitar now as we were leaving.

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
I saw Doug Kershaw last night (with Sunny Sweeney opening) in my old high school auditorium. He's 87 years old so it was about how one would expect but he had moments where he could still rip on the fiddle and is still an entertainer.

Luke Haines and Peter Buck tomorrow night.
Mostly for the chance to see Peter Buck play at a small venue. Only ever got to see REM in stadiums.

Isbell just announced a 3 night run in Austin. I got a pre-sales code and was totally "Springsteened". Tickets prices for "verified bullshit" were $200+ and few available. Fuck Ticketmaster - this crap hasn't previously happened. Time to go back to the trustworthy scalper, better than those Live Nation crooks.

TWO shows?????

What used to be is gone and what ought to be ought not to be so hard
Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
I asked “do we want 12/8, 12/10, or both?” The answer was both and I did not argue.

At least you get a day to recover from the first show before the second. The Boss can wear you out.brettac1 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 7:13 pmI asked “do we want 12/8, 12/10, or both?” The answer was both and I did not argue.

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
Of course the answer was both. That's not what I meant. I was referring to the fact that you were actually able to get tickets to not just one, but two, shows, apparently at prices bearing some relation to reality. Or put another way, did ticketmaster get its act together or was demand that slack? I find both explanations equally hard to believe.brettac1 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 7:13 pmI asked “do we want 12/8, 12/10, or both?” The answer was both and I did not argue.

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
For the purposes of my experience, they seemed to have gotten their act together. I got in the waiting room for the show I absolutely wanted to have (12/10) the second it opened at 11:45. Got in the queue behind 2000+ people, got my opportunity to buy tickets and had it go very smoothly. I was shocked to be able to get them right in the very spot I was hoping for, which was the second row off the floor straight away from the stage. I checked out hurriedly and then went to get in the queue for 12/8 to see what I could get there even just if it was an “in the building” situation. I was surprised to still be able to get partial side view in the lower bowl on an aisle so I snapped those up.beantownbubba wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 8:29 amOf course the answer was both. Demand was very high, as I went back in after and it looked like they were sold out aside from the “Platinum” ones that are I $1800/ea. As far as prices go, they were in a range that I was OK with considering the circumstances. Who knows how many more opportunities I will have to see Bruce, let alone two shows in a row? The total cost for my two tickets (fees included) was $677. I paid my mortgage off last week so maybe I was feeling loose but that was a bullet I was willing to bite.

So, you're going solo? That helps when trying to buy high demand shows or baseball playoff tickets.brettac1 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 9:22 amFor the purposes of my experience, they seemed to have gotten their act together. No, there'll be two of us on the first night and three on the second. If I was solo I would have probably tried for floor.

So, it appears the Bruce tour is somewhat hit & miss. The show in Seattle Monday was great. No soul covers & he debuted 2 songs for the tour. Trapped & Land of Hope & Dreams. Trapped was a shocker & awesome. 27 songs over 2 hours 45 minutes. The next show in Denver was a very ordinary set for the tour. 1 of the soul covers was back & there were no tour debuts. Only 26 songs. I'm glad the show I saw was good. It was probably my last ride with the boss especially at those prices. You could definitely see Bruce's ( & the band ) age creeping in. It wouldn't surprise me if this is the last E Street tour.

Just scored tickets for the Flaming Lips doing all of Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots at the zoo in August. Quite excited for this one!

Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
I paid $250 for a pair. I got them on the presale. They were behind the stage & were advertised as ADA seats. When I got to the venue I discovered they were not ADA seats. I would've had to stand the whole show which I physically can't do. I complained & the arena upgraded me for free. I ended up on the side toward the back of the arena. Those seats were real ADA seats & I was able to enjoy the show without standing. I wish I could stand for a show but the arthritis is out of control especially in the winter. I'm doing good being able to walk from the car to the venue. I'm glad I went but as I said it was probably my last ride with the Boss. I was too far away to take any decent pictures. I'm not in your league but I've been told I have a pretty good eye for pictures. My kind of cheap Moto phone has a decent camera but far away concert shots aren't happening.tinnitus photography wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 9:43 amwhat did you end up paying for a ticket?chuckrh wrote: ↑Fri Mar 03, 2023 9:35 amSo, it appears the Bruce tour is somewhat hit & miss. Re: Who's Everyone Seeing Live?
shooting from the back of an arena calls for some pretty specialized gear, 100%
i put in for the TD Garden date but Bruce is notoriously difficult to get approval. I did shoot him once when on assignment for Backstreets in 2009.
