Self-titled debut got a lotta love in these parts when it came out and is worth checking out if you dig the new one. I'm also an unabashed fan of Plunket's previous outfit, The Weight. I did an Artist of the Week write-up on them almost a dozen years ago. :shock:

I've had a hard time reconciling Country Westerns vs The Weight. Other than Plunkett's voice they sound like completely different bands.*

*I know, they are :lol:

I feel like these guys took the best elements of bands like Joy Division, The Cure and Echo & the Bunnymen and distilled into their own brand of perfect post-punk. I'm fuckin' obsessed.
