Richmond Raceway-Thursday August 26

Post by Beaverdam »

I don’t live in Virginia anymore and won’t be attending, but…

The raceway is in actually in Henrico County, and my dad, who is retired from the Henrico Fire Department but still works part time for a company that monitors large events, is going to be working the concert.

My dad’s name is Butch Jones or C L Jones, Jr. If you see him, say hello; I think he wears a name tag . Dad lives in Beaverdam, VA (where I grew up, hence my screen name on 3dd).

Stay cool if you go…the forecast looks hot!!!

I'll look for your Pops and say Hi.

Got my fingers crossed the band plays Miss You coz o' Charlie's passing.
By the time you drop them I'll be gone
And you'll be right where they fall the rest of your life

Very glad to see "Play It All Night Long" re-emerge. My favorite DBT cover.

KKK is the only song played from the recent albums, which is just an observation.

The band was kinda ragged on this night...not the well oiled machine we have seen in the past but it was so, so satisfying hearing them play those great songs live again and being with the fan base again also felt amazing.

Was there, fun show. Weird venue for them IMO. Surprised it wasn't on Brown's Island.
Nice to see Deeper In, Something's Gotta Give, The Opening Act and Play It All Night Long.

Also yes - 6k cap shed on the same property as the race track.
It's the old Classic Amphitheater, if you're familiar with the area.

Thanks for the clarification on the venue.

Been to a few Nascar races at Richmond, but not since 2004-ish...
