Pink Floyd another brick in the wall

I ain't crazy but Jesus fucks me
Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Been listening to a lot of Isbell lately. I agree with pretty much everyone here about preferring his earlier solo stuff to his later solo stuff, but damn does he still write some fine songs. His latest record, Reunions, where he does his Knopfler thing, is just fantatstic.
If you don't run you rust

Hope he doesn't go too far in that direction or he'll be sleeping on stage! Just saying...Clams wrote: ↑Mon Aug 09, 2021 10:01 amBeen listening to a lot of Isbell lately. I just can't get into Reunions, other than maybe 2-3 songs.Clams wrote: ↑Mon Aug 09, 2021 10:01 amBeen listening to a lot of Isbell lately. I've been reading that his set lists are almost exclusively from the post-Southeastern era these days and I can't imagine spending any amount of money for one of those shows.
Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
People say they hear Knopfler, I say I hear Gilmour
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever
Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
My problem is that I don’t hear Isbell.
Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
I heart you. But about two months before the lockdown I saw him play an acoustic show in Atlantic City, was just him and Sadler, and it was one of the best shows I've seen in the past 10 years.Iowan wrote: ↑Mon Aug 09, 2021 11:32 amI just can't get into Reunions, other than maybe 2-3 songs.Clams wrote: ↑Mon Aug 09, 2021 10:01 amBeen listening to a lot of Isbell lately. Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
revisited Daydream Nation yesterday, certainly one of the finest 2LP sets ever released. i do find perverse humor that they released "Providence" as a single.
i never did get to see one of the DDN shows they were doing in the mid-late 2000s, but they usually did trot out either "The Sprawl" or " 'Cross The Breeze" from time to time, as well as the more predictable "Teenage Riot" and "Candle" but hearing the LP closer "The Wonder/Hyperstation/Eliminator Jr" would have been sweet. Probably the best Thurston lyrics he's written.

Falling out of sleep, I hit the floor
I pull on some rock tee and I'm out with the door
From Bowery to Broome to Greene, I'm a walking lizard
Last night's dream was a talking baby wizard
All coming from female imagination
Daydreaming days in a daydream nation
Smashed up against a car at 3 AM
The kids dressed up for basketball beat me in my head
There's bum trash in my hall and my place is ripped
I totaled another amp, I'm calling in sick
It's an anthem in a vacuum on a hyperstation
Daydreaming days in a daydream nation

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Man somebody really got a fistful of Patterson's hair around 3:46.
All it takes is one wicked heart, a pile of money, and a chain of folks just doing their jobs

Ty Segall - Harmonizer

I’m really pleasantly surprised with this album. Some of my favorite Farrar stuff in years

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
This is excellent. Right up there with Hold Steady's "Open Door Policy", Flatland Cavalry's "Welcome to Countryland", and John R. Miller's "Depreciated" for my 2021 top albums. And we don't even have new Sturgill or McMurtry yet.
Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Loving the Miller. Saw him 7/13. Small club. 100 folks (probably the last time for that). Full band. Fantastic. Still working on the tape and video. I'll have to check out the others. Current obsession is Yola.
Always go to the show
Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Damn, this is good.
Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
I caught Yola on Sirius Outlaw Country the other day and really enjoyed her. Will have to dig in more.
Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Yola brings it live. Catch her if you can.
Don't hurt people, and don't take their stuff.
