Steve Cropper (and friends) - Dedicated - A Salute to the 5 Royales After all these years, I still don't get why this didn't work for you, dime.
Steve Cropper & Felix Cavaliere - Nudge It Up a Notch This one's for you, 4sooner, wherever you may be
DBT - The New OK - I don't know how it will sound live and presumably w/out horns, but "Sea Island Lonely" is every bit as good as I thought it was initially and "The Distance" is better.
The Reigning Sound - Time Bomb High School
The Stone Roses - "I Wanna Be Adored"
The Subdudes - Annunciation It's been way too long since I last listened to this, but then there's a ton of music I can say that about

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
the newly released live set from Stuttgart '75 is one sweet jam. it was after Damo left so it's all instrumental. really good stuff. i bet deadheads would enjoy it as well, i tested on two of my friends and they liked it.

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
great Neil Young tone on this one... bummed i never got to see them play, despite having the early tip on them and owning the Brinkmann issue of "Tom Boy" (as well as the two De Artsen LPs).
a while ago i was doing some searching and found out that i slept on a triple bill of Buffalo Tom/Verlaines/Bettie Serveert at Avalon in the mid 90s.
JEEVES, FIRE UP THE TIME MACHINE AGAIN!

A Boston band, a Dutch band and a New Zealand band in a small club in Boston. Damn.
Yeah, that Palomine record is great. Obvious Shakey influence is obvious. I actually put "Balentine" on my Borrowed Tune(s) playlist after listening to the album earlier.

Bruce Springsteen - The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle - What else are you supposed to listen to when you're down the shore?
Bruce Springsteen - Letter to You - First listen since its initial release and it's standing up just fine.

Very much obsessed with The Vandoliers right now.
Think Old 97s with horns.

Couldn't name a song of theirs, but they are a great time live. Especially in Santa Cruz.

“Waiting on a Train” and “Every Saturday Night” are the ones that sucked me in. Both are singles from the forthcoming new album.

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Silent Dynamic Torture Super Static Fever
A band that played so loud their entire fan base went deaf and never spoke of them again. Formed in 1993 in the go-nowhere exurb of San Jose, California, Super Static Fever played only a handful of gigs in their brief two year existence, punishing spectators with a tinnitus-inducing wah-wah wall of Marshall-stacked distortion. Their sound was a mix of Melvins-esque sludge, Swervedriver’s melodic crunch, and latter-day Black Flag’s penchant for volume, as heard from the stock stereo of a hot-boxed 1985 Ford Econoline. Unfinished tapes from two ear-bleeding sessions are all that survived the ensuing 25 years since their indifferent break-up, mixed by the exacting Steve Albini as the band’s one condition for reissue. The package reeks of the ’90s computer-crippled D.I.Y. aesthetic, with VHS blur and opaque white screened on chipboard. A record that just barely does, and probably should not, exist.
