Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Jason Isbell - S/T
It's.....not very good
It's.....not very good
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever
Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
It doesn't hold up as a whole album, but there are some really good tunes on that one. "Streetlights" is definitely in his Top 10 and probably Top 5.Zip City wrote:Jason Isbell - S/T

The bad outweighs the good. There are 3-4 good songsIowan wrote:It doesn't hold up as a whole album, but there are some really good tunes on that one. "Streetlights" is definitely in his Top 10 and probably Top 5.Zip City wrote:Jason Isbell - S/T

Jeff Rosenstock - NO DREAM
Loving both of these.
Turn it up to 10 and rip off the knob

I have a copy of that.scotto wrote:
i remember going into a record store after already having been in one, so i checked my bag.
as i left, i got my bag and drove back to boston from providence. when i opened it, i realized that they gave me the wrong bag. that was in it, and some Bowie promo interview CD on Ryko, and maybe something else. I still can't remember what the other person got in return

Lately:
Waxahatchee, Saint Cloud
Perfume Genius, Set My Heart on Fire Immediately
and, not going to lie about it,
Waxahatchee, Saint Cloud
Perfume Genius, Set My Heart on Fire Immediately
and, not going to lie about it,
All it takes is one wicked heart, a pile of money, and a chain of folks just doing their jobs

Emeralds - Just to Feel Anything
what a great record. not really sure if this is anyone's favorite patch of dirt to play in, but if you like electronic/ambient/drone/krautrock stylings, get soiled.

The opening of Jay's streaming show made me want to hear some Badfinger. Haven't pulled this one out in a long time. I have No Dice on the Apple label, but this one is my go-to album for Badfinger.
Let the outside air in

A socially distanced evening with Eilen Jewell. With full band.
Don't hurt people, and don't take their stuff.

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
this is a nice quasi sequel to apollo. lack of pedal steel is big but tiny piano melodies with that unmistakeable lanois/eno background wash is a great alternative

one off band from robert fripp/toyah willcox. ive never completely warmed to king crimson but fripps combo of musical and technological talent is uniquely undeniable so this sort of art pop context for him is cool to hear

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
ive tried a few of lanois's pop oriented solo albums recently and theyre fine but hes clearly not as gifted a singer or songwriter as he is a studio hand. i cant say enough good things about his pedal steel on here though

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
has to be one of the strangest releases ive heard from an act whose fame is built on straightforward pop songs. maybe a bit too much spoken word to be in steady rotation for me but musically its gorgeous
