Re: The Metro 3/13/20
Surprised that they are doing only one night at Metro as it is smaller than Thalia, and didn't they basically sell out the two show stand there in 2018? Also, they will be touring behind a new album, so you think that would increase rather than decrease the crowd. Anyway, happy we are getting a show. The Halloween show at Metro in 2004 remains as one of my top concert experiences of all time.

I am in for this show. Excited to see DBT at the Metro. I saw X there in 2016.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the Metro as the venue given that it's smaller than the Vic and Thalia Hall which have hosted multi-night stands. The only two times they have played here to my knowledge in '04 and '08 both sold out in advance. I love this wonderfully dingy room and can't wait for the show. Regarding the '04 show it WAS my favorite DBT show I've seen. It was truly a Goliath. The energy was electric, the show was long , and the crowd literally drank The Metro out of whiskey. If I recall correctly, Centromatic opened touring on Love You Just The Same. My girlfriend at the time left 5 songs in because she was bored (and controlling) and I stayed . Later that night she dumped at her apartment . It was one of best decisions I have made. What a night.

Yep, that's the one. From what I recall, the show was over three hours and they just kept playing and playing. My wife and I had spent the day campaigning in Wisconsin for Kerry (that didn't turn out so great) and we were exhausted when we got home that evening and briefly considered not going. But Susan said, let's do this and the rest, as they say, is history. My wife is cooler than your old girlfriend. .

I can't quite put my finger on the "why" right now, but there is greatness and world-class importance here, at least at the t-shirt level and probably at the modern day equivalent of Bartlett's and embroidered, framed samplers. At the very least it ought to get you laid.Mr. B wrote: My wife is cooler than your old girlfriend.

Low and behold there are (moving) pictures to prove it. Been away so long that I don't remember how to correctly embed these.Mr. B wrote:Cubfan06 wrote:I was pleasantly surprised to see the Metro as the venue given that it's smaller than the Vic and Thalia Hall which have hosted multi-night stands. Re: The Metro 3/13/20
I really miss the Metro. I know some people who hate it, but I saw so many shows there between 1992-2005 that it holds fond memories
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever
Re: The Metro 3/13/20
Does anyone know when they will announce the opener?

I think my initial panic attack over very few Midwest shows is nearing its close.
I am very much IN for this one.
