New Braunfels TX - Gruene Hall

Post by Mr. B »

Assuming we don't get snowed in, me and the Ms. are heading down for this weekend's show. Somehow it will actually be our first shows of the year -- this is my longest gap in 18 years without a show, so I'm jonesing for a couple of nights of rawk and roll and perhaps a beer or two or twelve. Looking for suggestions for eats and drinks in the area around the venue.

I'll be there with the wife Friday and Saturday. No specific food recommendations but there are many choices.

There will be lots of Heathens finding out about the area this weekend. Look forward to seeing you and Ms B again.

Mr. B!!! No shit, glad to hear you’ll be there.

Either I owe you a beer, or you owe me one (I think it’s the former). Either way, we’ll make it right. See ya tomorrow!

Is this the first show since American Band to not feature anything from it?

My friend Trent asked that very question as we left the Hall last night. I don’t know the answer

Amazing set, Didn't expect to hear some of those nuggets last night.

It was my son's first full show and of course he knows American Band the most....but he wasn't disappointed at all.

Great to meet some of y'all. Have a blast tonight.

Fantastic show last night. Lots of jaw dropping moments, none bigger than a killer version of Carl Perkins’ Cadillac to open.

It’s a bummer they were up against curfew because it seems like given the opportunity they would have played forever. They were having a blast and we were too. :)

Blacks Bar BQ is right up the road...the real deal
The default is the Grist Mill, right next to Gruene Hall. Good food, but usually very crowded
See ya at the Rock Show

Unfortunately I did not see any taper set ups in the house and I was hanging back by the sound board area both nights. Even if someone had taped, my expectations for quality would be low. The acoustics were bad on Friday and only a little better on Saturday where they turned down the volume a little bit.

That low ceiling is a bitch for taping! Definitely didn’t see any stands, guessing stealth is gonna be the only option if there is one
