Homecoming Specials

Post by Jenn »

I don't know if this deserves its own topic or not, but if not I'm sure mods will move it.

Hey guys! I collected a few DBT specials for Homecoming folks from places around town. Sadly not all businesses realize how many people HeAthens Homecoming brings in and did not provide any specials, but they will learn! Especially if you ask every place you go if they have a DBT Homecoming special and if they don't, act shocked. :D Anyway, here's what I've got:

HALF-SHEP is going to do DBT themed specials on Friday and Saturday.
Friday: "Why Henry Stinks" - Patty melt with blue cheese and Apple-Onion Jam
Saturday: "Filthy & Fried (Sandwiches for the Road)" - Fried mortadella sandwich w/ Hobo Cheese Co. Banjo, pickles, and yellow mustard
Lunch is from 11am-3pm
Half-Shepherd Market & Cheese Shop

FLICKER: Order a 'Large Marge' - a howdy of Makers and an Amstel for $6. They will also be carrying the Hanging Hills Brewing - HEAthens Homecoming Pilsner for $6
Flicker Bar

STARLAND PIZZARIA: Order 'THE HOMECOMING' and get a PBR/Jameson combo for $6
Starland Pizzeria & Pub

THE NATIONAL will have my husband's amazing bacon as an appetizer - we're digging into our personal stash so there will be some available later this week just for you guys. (Last batch he made for them is already gone - it goes so fast!).
The National

ROADHOUSE: Order a 'SINK HOLE' and get domestic draft and a well shooter combo for $6
The Roadhouse

THE WORLD FAMOUS: Order one of the Truck Stop Specials - $2 PBR tall boys, $3 Sweetwater 420 tall boys and $2 howdies of Fireball cinnamon whiskey. The bar & kitchen will be open 11am-2am every day/night!
The World Famous

BLIND PIG DOWNTOWN: Get the DBT Special - a 16 oz PBR Can and a shot of Jim Beam for $6.50
Blind Pig Tavern - Athens

It's a half-shot. Popular in Athens because everybody wants to do shots with each other and full shots make the night too short. Howdies to the rescue!

Jenn, Thanks for working with the Athens vendors to come up with some HeAthens Homecoming Specials and thanks for sharing them here for us to see.

Can't wait to get down there in a few days to see all y'all again and enjoy the good Athens cooking.

From the DBT FB page:

Happy homecoming week and welcome back to Athens!! I bartend at The Roadhouse next to Little Italy and we will be running a DBT special all weekend, but make sure you stop in during happy hour! $1.50 PBRS and $4 wells until 8pm every night and we will be BLASTING Truckers and Truckers-adjacent tunes. Come in and let’s love each other, mother fuckers!!! I’m crazy about this band (sorry for staring, Patterson) and I want to meet all of you!! (also mods if this isn’t allowed, I’m sorry!)
We got messed up minds for these messed up times...
