Wish I could. Was it similar to the time with the Dexateens?
Dexateens was flashier--he was shredding. This was Grand Canyon--spacier. Just as cool!
Always go to the show

In case anyone has not seen it.
It was a very good night at the Georgia Theater.

It was definitely later -- maybe 8:20 or 8:30 (?)

We were only able to do the first two of this run but damn it was a good time. Not only did Tyler get his moment Tuesday night (and it was glorious) he also got the appropriate kudos and recognition for his out of the blue shredding by Patterson last night. Well deserved. Saturn is a fun club and I hope they play there again.
We call him Scooby Do, but Scooby doesn’t do. Scooby, is not involved

I don’t have Facebook, but my wife showed me a picture of Tyler playing guitar and Beaverdamsfinlaw was standing beside Tyler. Bryan said the shows have been awesome but have only been lasting about two hours. I think the Saturn would be a cool place to see the band.

It was a another great show to cap off a fantastic three-night run. 3DD ruled the rail every night, and I talked to folks I recognized from Homecoming but had never met.

Tonight was much more crowded than the last two. I don't know if it sold out at the door, but it looked every bit as crowded as other shows I've seen that sold out at Saturn. They had good crowds for a Tuesday and Wednesday in Birmingham, but tonight was full. If DBT wants to hit mid-week multiple nighters here leading up to weekend shows in Nashville or Atlanta, I'll gladly take it.

Patterson gave a callout to Bill before "Fourth Night of My Drinking" for hitting show #300.

Tyler got the guitar again to finish out the last bit of Let There Be Rock. At this point, I think we can call him the "6th Trucker."

Sounds like some amazing shows, and hats off to Tyler! It killed me to mis a them as I think I haven't missed a B'ham show in probably a decade, but midweek shows are tough to pull off.

My wife (not a DBT fan and didn't go) asked me how the shows were.

I said "oh, they were average DBT shows." She looked surprised and said "Just average?"

I said that yeah, the shows were average for DBT. I said that they blew me away and in those few months between shows, you somehow forget just how great they are---you know from previous experience that they're unparalleled on stage and you count the days down to show day (one week from tonight, three days! this time tomorrow!!!!).

But you forget just how damned amazing they are live until you're there. You watch Cooley bend strings and wonder (again) why you didn't start playing guitar when you were a teenager, but know that even if you did, you wouldn't be able to do that shit. You see Jay being all sneaky off to the side hiding from the lights ripping out solos---sometimes on guitar, sometimes on keyboards, sometimes both. You can't help but notice Matt grinning ear to ear like he's up there living the dream while you physically feel his bass notes pulsing through your body.

You see Patterson's stage presence. He's singing the very songs that helped you through the hard times, complete with walls of goddamn noise and sound. Hood says it all better than you ever could, and right now he's saving your life all over again with rock and roll. And there's EZB back there very calmly drumming his ass off like it ain't no big deal.

You sing with friends you see just a few times a year. You sing with strangers who became friends after the show started. You forget about all details of life that seemed so important just a few hours ago.

For a few hours, I'm 19 years old and rock and roll is the only thing that matters.

Pretty much the average for The Rock Show.
