While doing work around the house tonight:
40 Watt Night 3
---
Songs that would be obvious encore "go home" songs for most bands can fall anywhere in the set for DBT. It's all one big fucking three-hour encore.

Agreed. And this one is a very good, politically-charged CD. "Reagan Youth" is pretty awesome.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:great band, should be way more well-known than they are! Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
So Rufus Harley started out as a post-bop sax/reed player and then ended up retuning a set of bagpipes to a more appropriate key (or something like that--can't remember the exact details) for jazz and put out a few albums on Atlantic in the '60s. He also plays sax, clarinet, etc., on his albums, which are fairly middling once you strip away the gimmick. Pretty fun cover of "Eight Miles High" though.beantownbubba wrote:''scotto wrote:Rufus! Ok, I'm intrigued (if baffled). Can you provide a little more detail on what/who the heck this is?

Live! Raisin' Hell- Elvin Bishop
My granddaughter and I are playing with her farm animals,
up next "calling all cows"
then the cows are gonna steal some watermelons while the roosters strut their stuff.

This is getting spooky, shakespeare. It's like you've hacked the soundtrack to my college years. But I warn you, if you come across any of those pictures you better not post them.Shakespeare wrote:

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
i listened to a lot of jazz in college too, but mostly the heaviest of the heavyweights. i periodically come back to chip away at the endless gaps in my collection, which is inherently easy in jazz because of the way the full musical cast is usually right there on the coverbeantownbubba wrote: This is getting spooky, shakespeare. Sabbath's album covers (save for Vol. 4) are the poster children for "so bad it's brilliant".
