I slapped one of the round Cooley bird stickers on a black mug that I use at the office.

I'm not a fan of the thin shirts at homecoming this year. I like the 100% cotton much better!

I'm 100% with you. I much prefer a 100% cotton shirt. I bought the Dance Band of the Resistance shirt (love the design) but I haven't worn it yet. Those 80% polyester shirts just aren't made for most guys in their 40s

Yep.

And ditch the cheezy "Dance Band Of The Resistance" moniker. I've loved the art work on the posters this tour, but it just seems so silly.

I bought one of the "It's Great TO Be Alive" Cooley bird shirts last year. I didn't realize at the time it was this thin fabric. Thankfully, I bought it a size larger.

Wonder how much the boys have to deal with bootleg merch: http://www.invisibleoranges.com/bootleg-merchandise/

You do see some stuff on eBay (mostly freshly-minted older design tees) that appear to be clear rip-offs, but wonder how much of a dent that really is.....

I would guess (and hope) not much. I suspect the vast majority of merch sales go to fans like us and we generally aren't buying bootleg shirts.

It might be little enough not to be worth the time it takes to suppress it, but if the band would give out an email or a webform to report this sort of crap, I'd do it.

There used to be an unauthorized "roots of the DBT" CD on amazon with banda like black oak Arkansas, the outlaws, etc. I think Jenn got that shut down quick.

But since this is a merchandise ideas thread I'd like to see a few of those bootleg shirts officially available. I'd love to have a Dirty South shirt. Ideally it would have the cover of the gatefold on the front and the back of the gatefold on the back. As a matter of fact I wish they'd do a series of shirts based on past album covers. I guess maybe they wouldn't sell that well (though I think quite a few DBT fans would like them too).

Surprised no one else dug this thread up to discuss the best merchandise idea they came up with to date The Cooley Bird blanket ! I went to Seattle and Vancouver a few weeks ago and was delighted to fork over the cash , might help i have a large Cooley Bird tattoo but still it’s a great piece of merchandise.

Just caved and got a giant new phone. DBT custom PopSocket would be cool and pretty cheap.

To chime in on this... I like the idea of a coffee cup.
I have a Lucero one that says "mornings like these" (based, of course, off "night's like these"); it's great, though it is peeling some.
For DBT, I could picture a Cooley Bird on one side and the quote "It's what alive feels like" (from Filthy/Fried) on other. I would be an entire set!

Another idea... one of those bottle openers that plays a song and it could play... "fourth night of my drinking" (or any number of other songs).

I know I've mentioned this before, but I'll say it again:

They really ought to make at least a few of the t-shirts available in big sizes (4xl,5xl,6xl). I know I'm not the only one that wears those sizes.

May not be available from the company they make their T's with

When I did the shirts for HC 2018, they were from a giant national t-shirt company, and they only carried up to 4XL. If you look online at the DIY shirt companies, such as CafePress, they also max out at 4XL. You need to find special-order places to go larger.

Coffee mugs with the Cooley bird and the owl for home use.

Also, a travel coffee cup / beer or whiskey glass combo. "Morning's a bitch with open arms" and "Night's a girl who's gone too far" respectively.

Or go high-tech with it, and have the slogan change when the cup is hot.
