Days Inn full already and most others close to full already, at least according to Booking.com.

There are AirBnB options available. You may have to go a little farther out but Uber and Lyft are in Athens and it's easy to get around. If you're not familiar Little Five Points is about 2 miles away and quite nice and I saw several listings there. Also anything that says close to the stadium would probably be fine as well. Expand you horizons and y'all will be good. Safety tip DO NOT STAY AT THE HOWARD JOHNSON'S. We had some friends that moved to Athens from Jackson last year and they did not ask for hotel recs when they were looking for a house and ended up there. After three hours, rat sightings, blood stains and cockroaches drove them to another hotel even though they had paid for the room. Last I looked it was the only hotel left so be warned.

We've had very good experiences with AirBnB many times, both in Athens as well as Richmond, VA and Asheville, NC. If you've never done AirBnB you can rent an entire house/apartment or just a room. Just check out the listings, read the review, etc. Don't be scared of AirBnB.

I just saw a few 1 bedroom apartments near campus for under $100 a night and a few others in Five Points as well.

Seriously thinking about going to Homecoming for the first time. As a non-driver, my plan would be to fly to Atlanta, catch one of the buses that go to Athens and do Airbnb. Can anyone tell me what section of Athens I should be looking at? The plan would be to Uber everywhere.

As close to downtown as you can find but if you're near UGA, even on the other side from downtown, you're likely fine.

I stayed at HoJo last year and it was just ok, not terrible but I saw they had rooms still available and I won't be making a return to it. I may just have to pass this year, having to use a Lyft every time I want to get downtown got real old real fast last year. Have fun folks, drink too much for me.

A question for Homecoming vets: I'm currently booked at an Air B & B from the 14th-19th. Given that the three shows appear to be 15-16-17:

-Are there likely "pre-show" events (Nuci's?) on the 14th?
-Does it make more sense to do 2/13-18? (Seems so!)

Thanks!

Who am I kidding, booked at HoJo. Not my first or even fifth choice but I've stayed at sketchier places. Tried the Airbnb route but, apparently my metro pcs phone number isn't quite up to their lofty standards. I really was surprised when their own Help board told me that.

There is always a show and gathering at Flicker on the Wednesday before the show and oftentimes there are shows in town before that. We nearly always arrive on Tuesday at the latest.

Definitely come to Flicker on Wednesday. There will be a ton of 3DD'ers there and many others from the various Facebook fan pages. Usually Paul's (the current merch guy) band "Pilgrim" will play and a few others as well. It's a hell of a good time and almost as fun as the 3 DBT shows to follow.

Apart from the musical and social benefits of an early arrival, some of us have learned through aggravating experience to build in some extra time to allow for possible weather related travel problems.

The Dazed is ground zero for craziness and debauchery. I highly recommend staying there. Fortunately for me, my cool ass girlfriend had the foresight to book a room. I'm sure more rooms will open up due to cancellations. The Dazed was completely booked last year at this time, but many of the rooms appeared unoccupied during Homecoming or maybe people were just cowering in fear of the fun the DBT crowd brings to Athens.

When it gets closer to the shows, post up in here and see if you can hook up with someone driving up from the airport. May even be able to get a ride back
