Exactly! There is so much stuff going on in that song.
Have you seen the video (or more accurately, the short film)? It's fantastic.
Yes. Agreed. And it stays very close to the story of the lyrics, which I guess one could say is a bit unusual for music videos, but anything else would just seem very odd I guess. I haven't always been able to get into all of Craig Finns characters, although I guess my attraction to THS in the beginning was very much about recognition, but these lyrics, and the way they hint to a bigger story (tragedy) just grabs me.

Just HUGE renditions of Dark Star, Lovelight and TOO.
I've been on a later-era Dead kick the past couple of months, but man is it fun to go back to these monster shows of the early 70s.

The "Let's Spend the Night Together" concert movie is on TV and woof, it's bad. The set is bad, the song selection is super random....I don't get it.

I love that movie. It was from my favorite Stones tour in 1981. What didn't you like about the song selection? It had Going to a Go Go, All Down the Line and Just my Imagination among other gems. What's not to like?

It got better, but there was a run if super generic bluesy songs that failed to impress.
