I'm not sure how to respond to this.Clams wrote:McMurtry - Complicated Game

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
It absolutely is one of his best, song-for-song. As an album it doesnt have much flow, but its still killer.pearlbeer wrote:You are wrong, Clams. One of his best.Clams wrote:McMurtry - Complicated Game

Edit; fuck off clams.
E quindi uscimmo a riveder le stelle.

I'll adopt Smitty's response.Smitty wrote:It absolutely is one of his best, song-for-song. As an album it doesnt have much flow, but its still killer.pearlbeer wrote:You are wrong, Clams. One of his best.Clams wrote:McMurtry - Complicated Game

An album with Copper Canteen, South Dakota, Long Island Sound, Carlisle's Haul, You Got to Me, and Ain't Got A Place holds the fuck up.

Tell y'all what I'm gonna do. I will listen again over the weekend and revisit my prior stated opinion.

Conor Oberst- Salutations
First listen
Pretty good, and it's cool that he used The Felice Brothers as his studio bansmd, though I was hoping they would have had more influence on the songs. You can tell it's them (plenty of accordion and fiddle parts) but the songwriting is decidedly Oberst

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
The latest New York Times Mag listed the 25 songs telling us where music is going. Copper Canteen is on the list. But the short write-up on McMurtry was outstanding. He should be the President.Clams wrote:Tell y'all what I'm gonna do. I will listen again over the weekend and revisit my prior stated opinion.

I've been listening to a LOT of McMurtry this weekend and I am presently collecting my thoughts about Complicated Game. (I know you're all on the edges of your seats).Gang Green wrote:The latest New York Times Mag listed the 25 songs telling us where music is going. Copper Canteen is on the list. Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
If Complicated Game only had four songs it would hold up on its own. Carliles Haul, Long Island Sound, Copper Canteen and You got to me are amazing.Clams wrote:I've been listening to a LOT of McMurtry this weekend and I am presently collecting my thoughts about Complicated Game. I mean, shit, Clams. Just listen to Long Island Sound. It is the most perfect description of the Island, and written by a Texan. As a Philly boy, I'd hope you'd appreciate that. But, then again, I guess us Texans have been educating you for years. You're welcome.

I'd settle for Blink 182 right about now.Gang Green wrote:But the short write-up on McMurtry was outstanding. He should be the President.
Beebs is not a ragey man
Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
I think the guitar player from Blink 182 is a UFO conspiracy theorist. I'm surprised Trump hasn't already tapped him for cabinet.Beebs wrote:I'd settle for Blink 182 right about now.Gang Green wrote:But the short write-up on McMurtry was outstanding. He should be the President.
