Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
I listened to his interview with Chris Shifflet (of the Foo Fighters) on Shifflet's "Walking the Floor" podcast (highly recommended - lots of 3DD approved folks have been on including Jason and Patterson) and was immediately intrigued. Pretty cool. Well written songs, and warts-and-all banter between the songs that often tells the back story of the song just played. Sort of like a studio version of a Todd Snider show, but less comedic I guess? Kind of a hat tip to the old school Texas songwriters.
I haven't entirely formed my opinion on this, but it seems like there's a lot to digest here and I'm digging it a lot thus far.

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
man, when I lived in Austin Ingram was the boy wonder of that scene that kind of fell in behind Robert Earl Keen. Hugely popular with douchie UT frat boy types. Never thought he'd have the longevity that he has. We did a few in-stores with him at Tower and the crowd he drew was a nightmareIowan wrote:

He flat out says in the interview that he's thought on numerous occasions that a lot of his fans were idiots. He talks about how he was opening for some legendary songwriter, a bunch of frat boys showed up to see him, and then bailed. He couldn't believe it.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:man, when I lived in Austin Ingram was the boy wonder of that scene that kind of fell in behind Robert Earl Keen. I see myself going down the Natural Child K-Hole because of this record. Just like I did about 18 months ago.
Going back and listening to all the EPs and full lengths lately.

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
seeing him here at Chico State on Monday! Pretty sure the last time I saw him was opening for Bonnie Raitt early 90s in Austin. That doesn't seem right, I feel like I have seen him since but can't pinpoint where or whennutfat wrote:Bruce Hornsby& The Noisemakers: Rehab Reunion.. Bruce ditches the piano for a dulcimer.. Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
first listen
the guitar part to Benny's Here sounds just like the asskickin' arrangement of Masters of War Dylan did on Real Live (which would be Mick Taylor on lead)
