Yep, I am excited for another show this Friday for sure! Sactochris, I know you put out some feelers for a meet up at a cigar shop before hand, I had not seen any other responses but wanted to chime in. I don't think it will work with my schedule on Friday, going to have to try and get down there just in time to see Shovels and Rope. I appreciate the effort though, maybe some of us can meet up for a quick beer between the opener and when the Truckers start.

This is pretty much my story too.

Plan ahead, people. I'm on vacation Friday. Cigars and bourbon sound good to me.

Good point! But, I planned ahead and was able to make the Fillmore show on Saturday, damn near out of days off!

Like you have to ask. At the Patterson solo shows pre Willie,
I talked to lots of people who were looking forward to the Sacramento show.
They are not board people, but norcal regulars.

My question for the day is how early is too early to start drinking on a rock show day?

If you're awake enough to ask, you're good to go.

That was my thought but it's nice to get some independent verification.

Me too. Work today is not going so well, lots of time spent NOT being focused on what I should be doing.

I'm about ready to start packing the car and then head down to the cigar lounge. So far I think I'm taking a case of beer, a bottle of Patron, a bottle of Makers and half a box or so of Cuban cigars. I've always been one of those, it's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it kind of guys.

Ah kind of jealous and highly anticipatory of next weeks shows in NOLA. Plus you said tequila, well you said Patron which is tequila so the appropriate taste buds fired and now I want one along with some shrimp and a Po' Boy, damn is time for New Orleans yet?
Don't mind me, have an awesome show!!
We call him Scooby Do, but Scooby doesn’t do. Scooby, is not involved

I guess great minds do think alike TC. You're very high up on the list of people I'd like to have a drink with.

Re: Sactown, April 25th @ Ace Of Spades
Tonight is going to be a world of hurt when walter goes crazy. The birthday boy is heading down from zip city and will go south on goodes field road before turning off at grand canyon to pick up some girls who smoke. After the pin hits the shell it is going to be like it was in pulaski with panties in your purse. I'm telling you that one of these days it will be nothing but woman without whiskey and shit shots will count as long as we have a love like this. Cant wait to get off from this fucking job, go home to two daughters and a beautiful wife and play with my bulldozers and dirt cause daddy needs a drink and hell no I ain't happy, I just want buckets full of mercy after my fourth night of drinking.
Like I said earlier, I am having a hard time focusing at work today.

This started as a good show, then hit another gear with PPOTM and carried on
at a higher level throughout the evening at the sold out Ace of Spades.
That was the most majestic WWW I have heard.
The all ages nature of the venue meant all drinking had to be done in the bar.
Should have brought a flask. Good thing Chris and I started drinking early.
Birthday Boy was dedicated to Wes Freed.
Shovels and Rope are awesome. They need to play with DBT
sometime in Athens Georgia on a Friday night.

Re: Sactown, April 25th @ Ace Of Spades
Well it happened. DBT came back to Sacramento and it sold out, that makes me very happy. Also, I had been saying that a Birthday Boy > Girls Who Smoke > Zip City would be an all time high for my Truckers experience and that happened as well, what a night.
It has taken me until now to fully recovery but I am alive and well. Brought a half dozen buddies with me that were blown away by that performance too. Also had the chance to meet One Belt Loop and LBRod on my way out in my drunken state, thanks for the chat.

Re: Sactown, April 25th @ Ace Of Spades
Yes that was one hell of a show, good ole American high intensity rocknroll. I was a bit underwhelmed by the clarity on vocals, and having to drink in the bar was less than optimal, but the performance was blistering. That's the most fun I've had with my clothes on since... well, South Shore.
I would like to apologize to anybody that I have not offended. Please be patient, I will get to you.

It was so nice to meet you, too! You didn't seem overly inebriated at all, btw. I hope to see you at future shows.
I grew up in Sacramento, so shows there always feel a little different to me. Also, that venue is where I first saw DBT play in June of 2008, the show that Patterson referenced early in this show.
A couple of friends I went to high school with were there, one of whom I hadn't seen in close to 30 years, so that was pretty great. She kept saying, "How is it I never listened to this band before?" And her sister texted me during the show "The guy in the red shirt = orgasm.". Yes, that was Cooley. Duh. Anyway, fun to have old friends drop in and get it. Plus one of them was a really huge Zeppelin fan and it was like Patterson knew she was there - I couldn't believe he pulled out Dragon Pants.
Bless his heart.
Side note: Big thank you to the crew for taking such good care of me on this run. While I was with friends at every stop, I usually am traveling more in a pack and was essentially on my own this time. I appreciated it very much.
