While I'm at it with the thread-starting, two nights at the Orange Peel have been announced, with Hardy Morris supporting. This one's a maybe for us.

Ha, that's awesome, thanks! The question is whether we can make it work with work, and, um, finances. We'd have to figure out an early exit on the Sunday too to be home in time to see the Pats win the Super Bowl.

How are the Pats going to win the Super Bowl when they are losing to Denver on 1/19 in the AFC Championship Game?

Probably in for this.

After getting snowed out once this year though, I must admit Asheville in the middle of winter makes me a tick nervous.

I like Asheville. I'll try to arrange things.

Chance to maybe see what Ford's "intelligent 4WD" is all about on my Escape. Working on the wifey for at least one night.

Maybe for this, not sure we can swing a two-nighter with hotel rooms & 4 nights in Athens within 2 weeks especially after the financial ruin of Christmas lol. Athens is non-negotiable, 100% in for Homecoming.

Why did I have to discover my favorite band at this point in my life???

I've been to Asheville a couple of times for DBT shows and loved it; however, my wife is expecting, and it ain't happening this year.

When I had the time to attend concerts (in my 20's), I didn't have a band I loved like DBT. When I have plenty of time to attend concerts again (grown kids), I hope Patterson and Cooley are still preforming, but heck those guys are a lot older than I! The whole conundrum makes me really appreciate the time those guys give to leave their family and preform for use even more!

Y'all who are going, have fun! I thought Asheville was an extremely cool city when I've been for concerts.

Out. Starting a new job in January, I'm already taking off 4 days for Homecoming, so I don't want to push my luck.

I wish Asheville wasn't so damn far. It's like 5 hours one way for me, and Fri is definatly out...that's a loooong round trip for one show. I still might do it.

No disrespect to Mr. or Mrs. PD but the reply above sounds like a joke getting ready to happen!

One of my buddies asked about this over the weekend. As I said earlier, I'd love to go, but I don't see it happening. I'd love to go to Asheville even without DBT. It was such a good city.

I was looking through some of my old pictures of the weekend I spent with a few buddies there for DBT years ago, and I came across one of a good buddy asleep on top of a table in a bar. His head wasn't just on top of the table; he'd actually climbed on the table for a nap. No, this wasn't 3am...if I remember correctly, it was mid-afternoon prior to the Saturday night show. If I remember correctly Asheville had a lot of good pizza joints with great (high potency) beer selections; we were visiting one of said establishments.
