I stopped listening at "minions"
I'm sure Savage went on to rail against Bush for using 9/11 to strip us of all sorts of Constitutional freedoms (Patriot Act, TSA, etc.)

Multiculturalism -- as a premise that all cultures are equal and all cultures have an equal amount to contribute to the world -- that's utter hogwash! The reason my ancestors came to this country as immigrants, and the reason your immigrants -- ancestors came to this country as immigrants is because of the great enterprise created by White, Anglo-Saxon Protestants. It is the greatest country ever created in the world. It is built upon the best -- the best of the White, Anglo-Saxon world.
Sounds like a swell guy

I have the notion to think you only say that because what he says is abhorrently against your grain. Because you absolutely can't stand the idea someone might think differently than you no matter the topic.
You know you won't get over yourself until you stop mainlining the koolaid, right?

I think you have it backwards, Slip. Politics gave us a country. Politics gave us the Constitution. Politics gave us "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." The 1st Amendment. The 14th Amendment. The 19th Amendment. An independent judiciary. The Federalist Papers. Abraham Lincoln. Land grant colleges (i.e. your state university). Compulsory education. The Civil Rights Acts. Social Security.
The problem is that we used to be great at politics. Then we were good at it. Now we suck at it.

In the end, the first drafts don't really matter, though, right? The Constitution we have was the one agreed upon, and it took an amendment later to end slavery. No matter how many good/bad ideas were in documents like The Federalist Papers, those documents are not law.
