Looking for Plastic Flowers Tab

Post by jmneal »

Can't find them anywhere. Have a rough idea of what it is, but am hoping someone has tabbed it out. Thanks in advance, and glad to be here.

This is another one for church, though not till after we get Mercy Buckets down.

So the 4 chords seem to be Em D C A, but from videos it looks like they're sliding each chord up around five frets after playing it open. Does this make sense?

You can slide the Cadd9 chord shape up to the 7th fret. Let E string ring out. Make sure to mute the D-string. You have an Em add9 (-ish). If you slide that same shape down two frets you have a D and then C two frets further down. The open G string rings out to create the drone on all three chords.

When you play the D and the C chords you don't mute the D string off course.

Thanks RolanK. It is E D C A right?

For muting the d string on the Em chord, can you just put your middle finger on the fifth fret D string? Then you would have two Gs playing. Probably doesn't matter.

Yes. Em D C A, a bit unsure about the A - minor or major. I think it's a minor which would be more in accordance with the key set up by the rest of the chords. Maybe someone with better ears than mine hear it.

I have relatively small hands and short index finger and I "grab" the neck with my thumb over the upper edge, I find it easier to just mute the D-string by not fully pressing down on that fret. As you say fretting it a half step down give you a G. So both will work.

Thanks. I don't know if it's the bass or guitar, but at the end/beginning of each chord cycle the low E does a pull-off from fret 3 to open. Just like Road Cases.
