Hey y'all,
We're building a fellowship of sober fans to provide positive social support to one another at DBT shows (and times in between). This is a "Yellow Balloon Group" and not affiliated with any particular recovery practice or program, some of you may be familiar with similar fellowships like the Wharf Rats at Grateful Dead shows, The Gateway at Widespread Panic shows, The Phellowship at Phish shows, or Section Yellow at some NFL stadiums (https://liveforlivemusic.com/news/phish ... y-packers/).
You can connect with us through our Facebook group The Righteous Path - Drive-By Truckers Yellow Balloon Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/therigh ... hrecovery/.
We're open to anyone who knows the struggles of substance use, there's no requirement to be in AA/NA/SMART recovery etc, no matter what your substance of choice is/was, we offer a safe space and community support advocating any positive change.
We hope to be able to set up a table at upcoming DBT shows, we just need people who want to be part of it and can volunteer to be table hosts. The band has already expressed support for this initiative.
We have also started hosting weekly virtual recovery meetings every Wednesday at 8pm EST/7pm CST/6pm MST/5pm PST. The Zoom meeting link is below:

Welcome simpdawg! This is awesome. Best of luck to you and the members of your group on this difficult journey. I don't know if you're aware, but we (the threedimesdown and larger DBT communities) lost one of our own, Smitty, to addiction fairly recently (feels like yesterday) and it still hurts like hell.
Should you want to reach out to specific members, there have been several posts/threads here over the years about battles and successes w/ sobriety. The newbies thread in the DBT discussion forum is one good place to find some of them.
Let us know if there's anything the broader community can do to be supportive.
And, of course, great choice on the password

As someone ~11.5 years sober, I think this is a great cause and I hope it is successful for all who participate.
