Gone but not forgotten....

This forum is for talking about non-music-related stuff that the DBT fanbase might be interested in. This is not the place for inside jokes and BS. Take that crap to some other board.

RR was the last one, right? Garth and Levon more recently and Danko and Manuel long ago?
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever

Yeah, I see that now. Don't know why I had a memory of him passing.

Also forgot that Danko lived until 1999. For some reason I thought he and Manuel died closer to one another

RIP to the GOAT, Terry Funk. If you know, you know.

Got to see him several times back in the day at the Asheville Civic Center. He was as mean, dirty, & tough as they came. Plus, he was great in Roadhouse

hope he kicks kissinger in the nuts...and then kisses him with an open mouth.

eta: the kick in the nuts part is not original to me.....but the kissing part was 100% my contribution.

The only guy to be kicked out of an Irish Punk Band for drinking too much.

Pogues has to be in my top 10ish shows. It was there I learned that I was too old to mosh. 2009.

Understandably overshadowed by Shane's passing, but Scott "Top-Ten" Kempner passed the same day. A member of the punk/roots pioneers The Dictators and the criminally under-appreciated Del-Lords (probably didn't help that their debut LP was released the same year as the Del Fuegos'). Sure did love both of those bands.

RIP Wayne Kramer of the MC5. We're down to one MC5 & one Stooge now. Bummer. I saw the DKT tour when they had Mark Arm & Marshall Crenshaw doing the vocals. We also got Kim Thayill as a guest. Awesome show. Wayne will be missed.

RIP Karl Wallinger of The Waterboys and World Party, dead at 66. I liked the Waterboys but i loved World Party for a few years back in the day. A sad day even if he wasn't so young

Eric Carmen of The Rasberries died too. Age 74. Go All The Way definitely a classic.

Thanks for the head's up. I had not heard that. More sad news that will of course become ever more common as the makers of classic rock of all sorts age into their 70's, 80's and beyond. The Raspberries were a great band and giants in the power pop genre.

Steve Kille, bass player for Dead Meadow. Great band. the singer/guitarist is David Simon's nephew and he added a Dead Meadow song to one of the episodes once.

this is a great song to get acquainted:
