Sheesh. The NFL just needs to take a 2-week hiatus.

I mean, who wants to watch near practice squad teams take the field?

Me. I want to watch that Broncos game so bad

The wheels are starting to come off. San Francisco doesn't even have a place to play or practice. Outbreaks on teams are growing with new ones every day. It's going to take a miracle to finish the season. If they make it that far, I can see some sort of variation on the bubble concept for the playoffs.

I'm actually looking forward to Chiefs-Bucs today for the obvious QB show, but that's in the context of not caring very much about the season which means I'm not paying a lot of attention. My vague sense of the virus's impact has me shaking my head that they're insisting on plowing ahead (well, I know, follow the money, but at some point the charade becomes unsustainable).

Yeah, in hindsight, I was happier to see Chiefs v Bucs

My Ravens made it closer than a lot of people thought. Our season is still a dumpster fire of maybe...maybe not, but it was interesting to see them be semi-competitive.

The GOAT,s gonna do what the GOAT does.

But why did GB take that late FG rather than going for the TD on 4th down?

When GB went for 2 & missed earlier was a questionable decision, too. Young coach but that sort of thing will get you in the unemployment line. Ask Anthony Lynn. I bet Aaron Rodgers pitched a hissy fit post game. Hopefully will be a good Super Bowl. I wasn't feeling too hot & went to bed before the second game was over. The outcome was obvious. Brady is on a mission.

I don't see the Bucs scoring enough points to keep up with KC.

I admit that I don't follow the NFL closely anymore, but I'm having trouble figuring out how Matthew Stafford could be worth a moderately successful veteran starting QB, TWO first round draft choices and I think another draft choice as well (2nd round maybe?) Is it me or are the Rams getting fleeced?

They are unloading a huge contract, and getting fleeced.

Time to invade Tampa/St. Pete! Maybe they can use Mara-Lago as a staging ground. Those cannons at the stadium may finally come in handy.

All I'm asking for, Roger, is 24 points. It's all we need, and then we win. This was the most stolen Super Bowl in history, and if you count the LEGAL points, we won by a lot.

Who won the match?
Tampa Bay destroyed Kansas City. Tom Brady was named MVP for the game. Chalk one up for us old guys!

Not to take anything away from Brady (who clearly cemented inarguable goat status), but that game was 90% about the Tampa Bay defense just dominating the Chiefs offensive line.

The story lines are rightfully focused on Brady, but Tampa Bay would have won that particular game with almost any starting caliber QB, given how their defense absolutely harassed Mahomes and obliterated the KC run game.

Maybe this is being discussed, but I think one could argue that Brady's biggest contribution to Tampa this year was in raising the bar culturally. As much as any throws he made on the field, his commitment to excellence is on a level that maybe only Jordan has hit in American pro sports.

Speaking of KC’s running game... Mahomes ran almost 500 yards, scrambling to keep the plays alive.

Then hitting receivers in the facemask. And they didn't make the catch.

Yeah, I don't know how anyone could pin this on Mahomes. There were so many times he miraculously escaped, somehow got the pass off, and the receiver didn't haul it in.

I get it, some guys just win (Brady) and it seems like the guys around them just don't have off nights, even if they aren't that good, but at the same time is Pat Mahomes supposed to throw the ball to himself?

In my random reading of post game stories this seems to be getting a fair amount of coverage. Different emphases in different stories but under the heading "cultural influence" there seems to be plenty of acknowledgement of Brady's impact.

Mahomes's extraordinary talent and greatness is obvious to anybody who watches him for even a few minutes. Even so, I have to say that I was perhaps most impressed with his incredible feats of athleticism while under pressure during the big game. Not all his passes were completed, and as noted that was often the receivers' fault, but either way, his ability to "extend plays" as they say and then to get throws off from every conceivable arm angle from overhand to underhand and all kinds of contorted body positions, including one while almost parallel to the ground, sometimes seemingly while not even looking towards the receiver, and to have most of those throws be accurate at least to the point of giving the receivers chances to make plays was astonishing.

Mahomes is a Bernie Kosar/Michael Vick hybrid. He is unconventional mechanically-speaking in a Kosar kind of way, yet possesses the incredible elusiveness that Vick once displayed.

I'm too young to remember Kosar playing (well, I wasn't paying attention to football yet), so from what I've watched, Mahomes is unparalleled in his ability to just get passes off in an accurate fashion regardless of what kind of chaos he finds himself in the middle of. His ability to just flick the ball across his body, on target, without looking blows my mind.

I'd agree his escapability is on par with Vick. Mahomes being (much) more judicious about when to run downfield should increase his longevity compared to Vick. Plus, I suspect he'll avoid the off-field legal trouble.

Speaking of Vick, I was in attendance for this. It's probably the most in awe I've been at a play I witnessed live
