Congrats Texas Rangers! Who woulda thunk it back in April or even in July or September? Well done!

I don't think i even need to say anything about the demise of the empire ;)

Great game to watch. If I believed in karma, I would say the Yankees got what was coming to them.

A-Rod took advantage of a bad call on an obvious HBP even though Swisher fell to the ground. Ironic that their only run was given to them. The Yankees are Klassy.

I'm hoping for a Giants & Rangers Series so I'm rooting for the Giants against Philly. But if I get my wish, I'll ultimately root for the Rangers. If it turns out to be Phillies and Yankees, I'll be the BIGGEST PHILLIES FAN OUT THERE. F the Yankees!

I love baseball so much.

Wow, insanely tense game. Phillies had the man they wanted up (or should have wanted; probly didnt by then) w/ the tying run in scoring position - can't ask for more than that. Can't take strike 3 looking in that situation!

Congrats, Giants! Beat those Rangers!

Dammit! Phillies pitched well and had their chances but couldn't push the runs across, tonight and throughout the series. Credit to the Giants, they were the better team. And no, Howard cannot watch that called third strike. Dammit!

Phillies outscored the Giants for the series but lost.

the whole "Yankees buy championships" thing needs to die. Yes, they spend more money than anyone else, but guess what? They have one title in the past 10 years.

It's not how much you spend, it's how you spend it (see: Chicago Cubs)

^^^^^ Their strategy hasn't been working, hence the need to buy better players.

Evil Empire used to have a crackerjack farm system. It has become less of a resource to them under their current formula for success (or lack thereof). $$$ can't buy chemistry. That is built through bus rides to Smallvilles and small talk w/ your teammates down on the farm. Yankees core is aging (other than Cano & Texeira). Would love to see them tumble in the standings. Could easily see a reload of C. Lee et al back into contention, though.

Lot of ways to win. Kenny Williams and the White Sox develop talent and trade it for the pieces they need and stay close to contention all the time. The Twins do that too, but keep more of their own guys. Whatever you do you have to have a philosophy and stick to it. The Yankees have done that in their own fashion. What you can't do is spend at the expense of developing talent. That's what got the Cubs in the bind they are now. they supposedly corrected the farm system but the talent is still too young to help much.

I like this World Series because we're going to have a 2 hour set list of Weir/Lesh God Bless America's/National Anthems and maybe U.S. Blues to lead off a game.

The real dynasty years of the Yankees came about because of the farm system. Jeter, Bernie, Rivera, Posada, etc were all home grown

Holy smokes. I actually agree with Zip. Kidding... :D I definitely think the farm system is underrated and underutilized these days by many teams. My grandfather came up through the Phillies farm system back in the 30s. Most came up that way back then. You paid your dues and developed character and longevity.

Get to relive the agony of Saturday's game all day long on sports radio today. Good times!

The Series should be an interesting matchup of old school NL pitching vs. old school AL bashing. SF's staff will need to duplicate their performance against the Phillies, and Texas is going to need someone from their rotation besides Lee to step up. I'm going with Texas in 6 and I'm rooting for them too.

Game 1 tonight!

Go Rangers! But if the Giants win I won't be devastated. It's going to be a fun series.
