Bryan's Bikers 2018

This forum is for talking about non-music-related stuff that the DBT fanbase might be interested in. This is not the place for inside jokes and BS. Take that crap to some other board.

Bryan's Bikers 2018

Post by beantownbubba »

Yes, it's that time of year again. Bryan's Bikers will be riding in the Pan Mass Challenge in less than 2 wks to raise money for the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Funds are used for both treatment (primarily of kids) and researching potential cures (for both childhood and adult cancers).

From this year's fundraising letter:

You all know how important this effort is. Formed to honor many friends and family who have suffered through cancer, but named for Bryan, the money Team Bryan’s Bikers has raised--that you have so generously contributed-- has funded the research and innovation that kept Bryan alive and sometimes very well and always engaged for 13 years and continues to do the same for so many others still suffering with cancer. We all love someone who is in treatment, or has been through chemo, or bears the scars of radiation. That’s why we ride and support the Pan Mass Challenge. Because, with your donations, the Dana Farber Cancer Institute will find a cure for cancer. And fewer families will have to deal with the heartbreak of losing someone like Bryan.

This year we are also opening more widely our carbo load dinner on the night before the ride as an additional fundraiser. It's a good time and the food is delicious and plentiful. If you're local or will be in the area and would like to attend please pm me here or via any other method we have in common.

With your previous help, we have raised $850,000 over 14 years and would love to reach 7 figures by next year. You can contribute on line at http://profile.pmc.org/TB0076.

Thank you for your previous contributions. We know how many demands there are on your precious charitable contribution dollars and we greatly appreciate anything you can do to support this very worthwhile cause which is particularly dear to our hearts and from which our son Bryan benefited greatly.
