Words That Have Lost All Meaning

This forum is for talking about non-music-related stuff that the DBT fanbase might be interested in. This is not the place for inside jokes and BS. Take that crap to some other board.

Words That Have Lost All Meaning

Post by beantownbubba »

Inspired by WWCD's inspired thread but different. Some words that have lost the ability to convey the substance of their definitions because they are not up to conveying the magnitude of our shift into an alternative universe.

"shame" - perfect. Pretty much supersedes or at least summarizes just about all of my initial post.

"legend" - another good one that immediately calls to mind great in reference to any athlete, sporting activity/accomplishment, artist or artistic endeavor.

There's a sign on the wall

as seen in this excellent Sturgill Simpson interview that Bovine Knievel shared:

https://noisey.vice.com/en_us/article/m ... ll-simpson

The story of how Simpson got here is a bona fide country music cliché: In 2012, he and his wife Sarah sold almost everything they owned, packed an old Ford Bronco to the max, and moved to Nashville as a last-ditch attempt to make it. A year later he released his self-funded debut, High Top Mountain, which was produced by legendary country producer Dave Cobb
