Only in Philadelphia, folks. (cross-posted in the MLB thread)
Fan on Phils' field subdued with Taser
By Kia Gregory and Matt Gelb
Inquirer Staff Writers
For the first time in Phillies history, a fan running on the field at Citizens Bank Park was subdued by a Philadelphia police officer using his Taser gun.
With 44,817 fans watching in the stands Monday night, the teenage male, wearing a black baseball cap, red T-shirt, and khaki shorts, ran on to the field during the eighth inning against the St. Louis Cardinals.
"This is the first time that a Taser gun has been used by Philadelphia police to apprehend a field jumper," Phillies spokeswoman Bonnie Clark said in a statement. "The Police Department is investigating this matter and the Phillies are discussing with them whether in future situations this is an appropriate use of force under these circumstances. That decision will be made public."
The fan made several loops in center field with security personnel and the police officer in pursuit. The officer appeared to fire several times before hitting the man. The man fell to the ground. He was then helped off the field.
The police officer "utilized his Taser" when a fan ran onto the field, said police spokesman Lt. Frank Vanore.
Running on the field during a game is a crime and has been for decades. Normally, such suspects are wrestled to the ground, escorted off the field, and arrested.
It was unclear Monday night if a Taser had ever been used on a Major League Baseball field to subdue such a suspect.
Vanore said the Police Department's internal affairs unit would open an investigation to determine if the firing "was proper use of the equipment."
Clark said the suspect was 17 years old and would be charged with criminal trespass. The team would not release his name because he was underage.
Police did not release the name of the man arrested or the charges.

Where to start the what the fuckity up ness?
The grandmother who leaves a blind deaf and paralyzed boy to die a slow agonizing death
the mom who abandoned her boy but still received child support
or the father who hadn't seen his son in 3 years?
I've been pondering this one for two weeks. It happened right by my new home.

With those restrictions it must be Nude Beach Day.

Get up yesterday hop in the shower, and before I knew it I was face down in the shower. Luckily I had friends staying over and they came running in when they heard the thunk. Apparently I was out cold. So they lift me out of the shower, stand me up start drying me off and then they said my eyes rolled into the back of my head and down I went again. I am truly grateful that I had my friends staying with me, cause I do not know how long I would have been out cold in the shower. A big thank you guys, your the best.
So spent the day in the hospital, 3 IVs. Not allowed to go back to work for 5 days and I have a headache that feels like a jackhammer is going continuously off in my head. Any suggestions for headache relief would be greatly appreciated.

Glad you are O.K. BC; ordinarily I would recommend taking a shower for a bad headache but maybe that is not such a good idea in this case. But more importantly, your friends saw you naked?

Re: WTF of the day.....
I'm assuming you are under a doctor's care since you were in the hospital, so you should probably ask the doctor what to take for the headache.

WTF??!! That'll put a crimp in your day. Glad you're ok, but...but..but what the heck was it??? And wil it come back? And, oh yeah, your friends saw you naked? And dried u off and stuff?
Headaches: Consulting your doc is always good advice but in addition: Dark room, quiet as u can get it. If u know someone who can massage your temples and other stress points around your head and neck that's real good. Fiorinol and derivatives/spin offs is my drug of choice, but available only by 'scrip. Good luck, feel better, and take care of yourself!!

Low blood sugar? I've almost done that a few times. It's scary to hear that buzzing and feel the darkness extend over your brain.
I swear by BC (or Goody's) for headaches.
Hope you're feeling better soon!

Re: WTF of the day.....
The hospital was a WTF as well. First IV top of left hand, nurse blows the vein. Second IV in right elbow, apparatus has leak in it, vein is a gusher, blood everywhere. Third IV bag springs a leak and soaks me!!!
Most of the test results came back and I have the following dehydration, malnutrition and exhaustion with a slight concussion from hitting the floor and the toilet on the second faint. But according to Dr Tulley at Winchester Hospital, this is a good faint. They ran tests for MS, due to the numbness in my hands and feet and the change in my vision over the past 6 months. Which came back negative but more results tomorrow when I go see my primary.
So I am drinking my Pedalite and trying to get a high caloric intake going, but I am just really exhausted. Guess all that insomnia has finally caught up to me.
As for my buddies drying me off and seeing me in my all-together, if they were not there I could have been out cold for hours in the tub with the shower running. And frankly being in my birthday suit and being helped by two men, doesn't phase me in the least. They took me to the hospital and stayed with me all day, and have been with me since. Good guys!!!!

In trying to keep myself busy and get over the philandering POS, I simply ran myself into the ground. Never fainted before, but I am so appreciative of my friends for toughing it out with me and skipping a couple of days vacation to take care of me. Well on my way to doctor, again and hopefully good tests results. Thank you everyone, kind of scary not having control over your body and mind. Plus I did stop most of the meds, Have not taken ambien for about three months so knock on wood for that, cause then I probably would be dead.
