WTF of the day.....

This forum is for talking about non-music-related stuff that the DBT fanbase might be interested in. This is not the place for inside jokes and BS. Take that crap to some other board.

Very sorry to hear this, Lynne, but the best thing she can do is completely cut him out of her life. No matter how nice he seems, this kind of behavior is unacceptable, and this kind of drama is the last thing she needs before she starts school. hope you guys get everything worked out.

PRESS CHARGES!!! Do not let him get away with this at all. Probably not the first girl he has laid hands on, probably won't be the last.

Any man who lays hands on a woman, should have them fckn' cut off. You can't play nice with your toys, you just shouldn't have them!!!! IMO

Seriously get it on the record, an anger management class might just nip this inexcuseable behavior in the bud and the next girl, won't end up the next assault victim or worse.

Lynne, that is total bullshit. She needs to get far away from him. And have some teenagers beat his ass too. Teach him a lesson. I know she probably thinks she is in love but this will only get worse.

A boy like that's no good for her. Better off finding a potato eater.

Just listen to "Wife Beater" with her one time. So sorry she's going through this and you're having to deal with it as a mother. I can't even imagine what I would do to the poor asshole that put his hands on my future little girl..

Good luck!

Can somebody explain to me why girls/women have become so desperate as to try to beg for and/or buy male affection? As a female, I am embarressed by this trend.

Oh, no lynne - that is absolutely horrible!! Get a restraining order against that boy, give his name to the police -- abusing pretty young women is about as low as a guy can go. DESTROY HIM!!

Lynne- I'm so sorry. Like WD said, I can't imagine what you're feeling as a mother and I have a daughter. I pray I'm never in that position.

I'm not a huge Oprah fan but she covers some good ground here. http://www.oprah.com/showinfo/Oprah-Talks-to-Men-Whove-Beaten-Women

Men- Just curious, what would your reaction be if you found out that one of your friends was an abuser?

Depends on how close a friend. If it was a very close friend (which would surprise me since I consider myself a good judge of character, particularly for those close to me) I would use whatever influence I had to get them into counseling, then consider whether they would remain my friend. It's doubtful that I could forgive that behavior to be honest. If it was a casual friend I would help the woman in question get away from that person and then completely remove the "friend" from my life. Hitting a woman or child is one of my very few absolutes. It is NEVER ok or understandable,

At this point in life I've scraped off anyone who could possibly behave that way. So it's kinda hard to imagine. For the sake of the argument it would be some combination of

a) encouraging/assisting legal action by victim
b) immediate and permanent ostracizing of perpetrator
c) ass beating (I know, bad idea. Maybe even irresponsible to openly talk about. But if someone beat up on one of my sister in laws I can see myself getting pretty silly)

One or all and not necessarily in that order.

My little brother found out his Ex-GF just paid his overdue cell phone bill without his consent/knowedge. They split up last year and he's been with his current GF for over 6 months. She would run into me here and there and try to seem casual when soliciting info about him, obviously still hoping to get back with him, but I think she definately crossed the line here. I mean, how did she get access to his account? His GF knows about it and some other desperate attempts to get his attention. She is losing her patience and asking me how to deal with it. Frankly, I don't know what to say.

Man allegedly urinates on 11-year-old girl during flight to New York

CHAOS erupted on a JetBlue red-eye flight from Portland, to New York's John F. Kennedy Airport when a drunk man allegedly urinated on a sleeping 11-year-old girl, the New York Post reported today.

The youngster was traveling with her sister and father on the flight and had been left alone for a few minutes while the others used the lavatories.

Robert Vietze, 18, stumbled from his seat five rows behind her and emptied his bladder, a witness said.

"I was drunk, and I did not realize I was p***ing on her leg," Vietze said, according to law-enforcement sources. He later claimed to have consumed eight alcoholic beverages.

The girl's father caught Vietze midstream.

This has really not been covered much here - or maybe I've been out of town too much. I'm shocked and disgusted not only by the awful crime, but by the apparent lack of outrage among the general public -- finally, this weekend there was a wonderful candlelight vigil - it's finally starting to get coverage and be discussed.

  Above and beyond the obvious, this appears to have been as cold blooded as cold blooded can be. I guess i just assume that these sorts of things tend to be hot blooded, mob psychology crimes of the moment. Either way it's horrible, but this is even worse.

Seriously WTF?

Spider Silk Used to Create Bulletproof Skin
A Dutch artist used a lattice of human skin cells and genetically engineered spider silk to create "bulletproof skin" that's able to stop .22 caliber bullets fired at reduced speeds.
But the real value of this bio-art project is that it shows the potential of using this type of biotechnology to cover large wounds, treat people with severe burns and create artificial tendons and ligaments, according to Utah State University's Randy Lewis, the Associated Press reported.
Lewis and his colleagues recently developed a commercially viable method of manufacturing spider silk fibers using silkworms and goats implanted with spider genes. The genetically engineered spider silk was used in the bulletproof skin project.
The bulletproof skin shows a strength and elasticity that could prove especially helpful to surgeons trying to replace large amounts of human skin, Lewis told the AP.
He hopes to begin animal testing with spider silk materials within two years and noted that it's already been shown that spider silk is compatible with the human body.

Lynne, I'm sorry about your daughter. I can't abide a so-called man who would hit a woman. Wish I'd been there. He'd be crawling around on the floor puking and looking for his teeth.

Smarty is a babe! True beauty is on the inside and she has shown it over and over again. Thanks Scratch - it has been a long couple of weeks; with the boyfriend crap, all the other stresses in my life and the fact that she is my baby leaving for college on Friday I am just about overdue to pull a "Wrekkr". A lost night at a bar, property damage, face planting into stationary objects, complementary but necessary stitches and one hell of a hangover. Sounds like my weekend has a plan!
I just want to stay in that better time and place....

 Shucks, y'all, I don't know what to say...thank you.

lynne, I hope your daughter going away to college further distances her from that loser of a boyfriend and your whole family can put that shit behind you. I know the transition to her living away from home all the time will be hard for both of you - hell, I just moved back into my dorm and my parents STILL cried when they left me here, which made me cry, and feel like a total homesick loser for the rest of the night. It feels terrible, but it will get better. I wish her luck with her studies (and hopefully a better boyfriend) this year!

So you're a blonde with a horse, cortez is a pissed off Neil Young, Scratch is Ricky, dime is fresh outta jail Hank.

BK is a faceless Brian Wilson. "Got heeeeeem!" Steve French is a synchronized swimmer. Garner's a chimp.

Oh yeah and Lurleen is a bird flippin BBT. And Beebs is Jason Isbell with a porn 'stache.

Now I'm confused.
