Most lewd-sounding town names in the U.S.

This forum is for talking about non-music-related stuff that the DBT fanbase might be interested in. This is not the place for inside jokes and BS. Take that crap to some other board.

The Complete List of Lewd-Sounding Town Names in America

not sure if it is actually complete but still fun. The Indiana entry shown on the map has me considering a change to my last name

As for Rough & Ready, CA, have driven through there a plethora of times and will do so again soon when heading to Tahoe for the show!

no idea why Cranston (RI) is considered to be lewd-sounding, though Woonsocket certainly is

can't believe they left out Sandy Mush, NC (where family members have lived for generations)

funny enough, Love Valley, NC was the host of a legendary music fest that featured the Allmans way back in 1970

Well acquainted with most of the Iowa entries.

I lived in Beaverdale for 3 years. It's really just a named neighborhood within the city limits of Des Moines. Not even a suburb, but a neighborhood with a really strong identity. Great place. Lots of pretty little brick houses, quirky neighborhood bars and restaurants (Cooney's makes the best bloody mary I've ever had), and a small town vibe right in the middle of the city.

Balltown is home to Breitbach's, which is the oldest bar in Iowa. It's also located on the Balltown ridge, which is one of the most god damned gorgeous places I've been. 700 feet above the Mississippi, and you can see for miles.

Fertile and Manly used to share a consolidated school district called North Central (very creative) that was one of our school's rivals (only about 40 miles west of where I'm from) growing up and the old joke was there was a newspaper headline back in the day that said "Manly man marries Fertile woman", as well as the inverse.

When I was a kid we would drive through Climax Michigan to get to my grandmother's and if my mom was paying close enough attention she would cover my eyes. The crazy thing is that at that age I had no idea what climax meant, especially in that context, but because I was forbidden I found out.
We call him Scooby Do, but Scooby doesn’t do. Scooby, is not involved

Having driven between Chicago and Detroit hundreds of time, I'm very familiar with Climax. My kids are almost old enough so that I can no longer say to my wife: "This is where you get off" when we see the sign.

There is a Peckerwood Point in Tipton County Tennesee, a little north of Memphis. I don't think it is an actual town, more of a community.
Teresa Williams, singer and wife of Larry Campbell, is from there.
And Arizona isn't the only place with a Three Way...Madison County Tennessee has one too. It's not all that far from Sweet Lips or Finger, Tennessee.

Thanks, but I can't take credit.

Some day I'd love to drive the entire Great River Road, and this is part of it.
