This forum is for talking about non-music-related stuff that the DBT fanbase might be interested in. This is not the place for inside jokes and BS. Take that crap to some other board.

I tried to give her a fight but just could never quite catch up. For an oh-so brief moment I actually thought the cup might come back home, but as I so often am, I was wrong
Wait 'til next year!!
And well-earned congratulations to Allison. At least this year was competitive.

But we are a private league, aren't we? I tried the public league option anyway and you don't need a team code at all so I don't see how that can be right. I'm sure I'm doing something obvious and stupid wrong but I can't figure out what it is. Where's the commissioner when i need him?

NEVERMIND. Figured it out. Not totally sure what i was doing wrong, but whatever, finally did it right. Probably not for the last time this season let me say thank you for your patience.

Glad to see new players, increasing our numbers is great, but it looks like we are missing a few from last year. Besides Ben Stettler, who else is absent?

Somebody, possibly WWCD, mentioned that it might be fun/more challenging if we had to pick unique squads. I assume y'all got the same email from the website, but just in case:
"We’re using this international break to encourage people that haven’t tried FPL Draft to experience a new challenge for the first time over the remaining 34 Gameweeks.
Use your existing FPL login details to invite friends, family or colleagues to join your league that can contain a maximum of 16 people.
Just set a time and date for your Draft when you’ll each take turns to pick Premier League players until you’ve all selected a squad of 15. And unlike FPL, every squad in your league is unique so only one manager will own Aguero, Kane or Salah.
During the season you can trade your players with other managers or pick up free agents each Gameweek in order to strengthen your squad. For more tips, read The Scout on How to play FPL Draft.
So why not try it for yourself and start scoring in Gameweek 5? You only need a minimum of two people for a league (though we recommend eight) and it could re-ignite your Fantasy season.
The Gameweek 5 deadline is Saturday 15 September 11:30 BST."
I could probably be persuaded to do this if there's enough but not too much interest (my knowledge of the EPL is nowhere deep enough to allow me to draft players say 120 in but if somewhere between 4 & 6 people want to do it and we can manage to schedule the draft, it could be interesting. Plus I've already played my wildcard, changing out almost half my team and it didn't even help so I'm looking at a long season in the basement in the current league so I could use the distraction.

I have indeed suggested such a thing previously. Color me interested

I think that might be really cool. I was also planning on making a second league next season where we would go head to head against each other each week. I would be interested be interested in hearing every ones thoughts on that.

Elaborate on head-to-head in this scenario

In the video from earlier today where Trump touts the response to the hurricane in Puerto Rico as an “unsung success” ( ), it looks like there is a miniature replica of the World Cup trophy on the table behind him. WTF?

We can have an entirely separate league where we still have the same squad we choose at the start of the season but we would compete against the other teams in the league head to head on a weekly basis.
I found this to be a good read. However, still not sure what to make of the final paragraph. I intellectually understand the point, of course, but the reality is fucked up:
Argentine soccer is far too violent, too results-obsessed, and too important in the lives of everyday citizens who have neither the economic nor political support to put a sporting event and the social ties sports engender in healthy perspective. It is too antiquated. But if the choice is between a too-violent soccer of and for the people and an antiseptic one whose messiness and specificity has been wiped away so that advertisers and TV broadcasters and soccer confederations can suck more money out of deeper pockets of foreigners and the handful of rich locals who can afford to travel with their involuntarily adopted game, then I’ll take the busted-up buses every time.

I knew I was holding on to Pogba too long but I'm glad i finally pulled the trigger. Did not play, coach's decision Saturday against Liverpool. Yikes. Not a good situation.
Is there any word on when Spurs' new stadium might actually open?

Yes and yes. You've no doubt seen previous sports series with a similar format (though in this one you don't have to see Rex Ryan screaming about getting a "goddamn snack!"), so nothing new there, but I can't think of another such series where we get to see a franchise and its supporters go from worse to BIGLY worse
Also, sorry for taking so long to answer, I thought that I had already done so
