3DD English Premier league Fantasy Football League

Post by sactochris »

I've been playing English Premier league fantasy football on premierleague.com for several years. It's fun, and it's free. I've started a 3DD league and would like to invite anyone who is interested to pick a team and go up against me and the other premier league fans here on 3DD. It's very easy to play. PM me and I will send you the code needed to join the 3DD league.

By "pick a team," does this mean one just selects a specific EPL club OR does it mean select individual players from all over the league, as in fantasy NFL?

It's fantasy football. You choose a squad of 15 from players of all 20 premier league teams. All the players as assigned a monetary value and you have a budget of 100 million pounds. No more than three players from any one EPL team can be chosen.

My goal is to know the EPL well enough by next season to be able to play (not win, mind you, just hopefully not embarrass myself) but I'm not there yet. And who knows? Maybe Gareth Bale will be back in the league by then :)

Is it based on goals scored, or is it more nuanced than that?

Goals, assists, & keeping clean sheets for the defenders and keepers are the big point scorers.

It's fun and it's very easy. it's a great way to learn the EPL.

are players only on one team or can multiple teams have the same player?

If you think I am asking idiotic questions, I've never played fantasy NFL so I don't know the ropes

Just pick who you want doesn't matter if they're in anyone else's team, all you have to do is stay within your budget of £100 million.

There is no draft, so players could be on multiple teams in the same league.

Maybe I should just take a few players from each of the other players as a way of starting to learn the league. I guess I'd have a pretty strong chance of finishing right in the middle.

Squatney Heelspur FC is in and ready for action!!!

I like to think I am of above average intelligence and fairly Net savvy, but damn, the process to select the team and join league wasn't that intuitive

I have a feeling I am gonna suck at this

Commissioner Chris: once our team is set, are we stuck with the lineup permanently or are there transfers? Same question regarding players who get injured and miss a lot of time on the pitch

You get unlimited free transfers up till kick off of the first game of the season. You get one free transfer per game week thereafter. You also get one wildcard you can use whenever you like, and a second wildcard that you can use during the January transfer window. When you play a wildcard you get unlimited free transfers for that week.
