3DD English Premier league Fantasy Football League

Are Spurs fans in open revolt yet? As a relative novice to the sport I always wonder if I'm missing something or don't get the subtleties but by now I do know one thing: Spurs are horrible to watch and I don't need an expert to confirm that. They are the living embodiment of the received NFL wisdom that the only thing the prevent defense prevents is winning. How many leads do they have to cough up before they change a plan that demonstrably doesn't work? Considering how good their offense is when it's in gear, it's also a shame that we don't get to see more of it.

So on Thursday, Bubba's Pride had 2 goals disallowed by VAR in the same game. The first was an offside call not visible to the human eye and the second was a clear handball called as being part of the build up to a goal, apparently because it occurred in the same game prior to the goal. I think the PL is going way down the wrong road w/ its VAR process. If I wanted to watch the NFL, I'd watch the NFL.

In a brilliant move, I switched my captain from Salah, who had been in a scoring drought to Son. Predictably, Salah scored 15 points and Son had 2. I really hope I don't lose the league by <15 points.

In a remarkably close and exciting race the 3dd premier league fantasy title was won by uncle rickey by one, count 'em one, point after 38 weeks of competition. Congratulations, Luke. I am proud to be your nephew.

Thank you, Bubba! Holy hell was yesterday an exciting day to watch through my FPL lens. Things weren't looking great for me until two late Patrick Bamford goal involvements, and then the games were over, and everything came down to the vagaries of the awarding of bonus points. I don't know what exactly Andy Robertson did in yesterday's game to merit 2 of them, but... I'll take 'em!

Thanks to everyone who played!

This seasons league has been renewed.

Here is the code needed for new players if they'd like to join in the festivities.

I know I could look it up but I'd much rather bug you: What's the deadline for the start of the season?

Deadline is Friday, Bubba. Hope to see you on there again!

Also, is there going to be a head-to-head league? That’s always a fun way to follow too…

You know I'll be there (for the regular league, I'm not into the head to head version). But what am I going to do about Harry Kane???

I created a head-to-head scoring league as well in case folks want to play that way. Requires no extra work for your team, but you get individual matchups with different opponents week by week. Here’s the invite link to join that:

Anyone who has Bruno Fernandez and made him captain this week may already have won the league, lol. But I'll tell you what - Paul Pogba was really impressive, that's the Pogba I remember from way back.

I was quoted today in Rory Smith's NYT soccer newsletter. :) I think that's worth at least 50 extra fantasy points, don't you?
