So I have 3 of 8 Elite 8 teams and 1 of 4 Final Four teams left.
This is why I don't bet on the Tourney

That's a great hire.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:Archie Miller to Indiana
FWIW, I read the Miller really wanted the Ohio State job (he coached there under Matta). He and many others were expecting Matta to be fired. When Matta wasn't fired and the Indiana job opened, Miller jumpedIowan wrote:That's a great hire.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:Archie Miller to Indiana
I agree, as a UK fan, I was really hoping IU would get Alford because I don't think he's anything special as a coach. I'm much more worried about Archie returning IU to a powerhouse program and having another big-time team in our backyard.Iowan wrote:That's a great hire.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:Archie Miller to Indiana
Agree but the program seems to be poisoned since Knight left in 2000. Many thought they would return to being a power under Davis, and then again under Sampson, and yet then again after Crean. All three had the same resources that Miller will. He's no doubt a good coach but so were those guys. I won't buy into them being a perennial power again until I see it.rlipps wrote:I agree, as a UK fan, I was really hoping IU would get Alford because I don't think he's anything special as a coach. edgy takeZip City wrote:Well two of those soft west coast teams are in the Final Four
I think you missed my point. I was praising two teams who were previously implied to be soft in this thread.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:edgy takeZip City wrote:Well two of those soft west coast teams are in the Final Four
No, I totally understood your pointZip City wrote:I think you missed my point. I was praising two teams who were previously implied to be soft in this thread.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:edgy takeZip City wrote:Well two of those soft west coast teams are in the Final Four
And now either SC or Gonzaga will be in the finals. Nuts.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:Congrats to South Carolina, first Final Four in school history. They rebound and defend like beasts, this run is very impressive. Every team they have beaten in this run--Marquette, dook, Wisconsin, and Florida--all have won national championships
Yeah, this Final Four has all kinds of stories--Gonzaga finally breaks through, South Carolina's impressive run, Oregon back in FF for first time since winning the very first national championship in 39, and then as you said, a blue blood. Man do I love the tournament, never disappoints!Zip City wrote:And now either SC or Gonzaga will be in the finals. And the blue bloods battle it out for one Final Four spot.
Fireable offense, unless there was a tornado bearing down on someone.Zip City wrote:I wish my local CBS channel hadn't cut away in the final 20 seconds to give a weather update.
But seriously, the station is getting destroyed on Twitter right now.

What an idiotic move by the station manager

brutal! Assume where you live there are a fair amount of Kentucky fansZip City wrote:Yeah, UNC was up by 3 when they cut away. Missed the tying 3 and the winning jumper
Nah. 99% Ohio State, 1% other Ohio schoolswhatwouldcooleydo? wrote:brutal! Assume where you live there are a fair amount of Kentucky fansZip City wrote:Yeah, UNC was up by 3 when they cut away. Missed the tying 3 and the winning jumper
Thanks very much, and I know exactly what you meanrlipps wrote:I really wish I didn't care so much about sports. Congrats WWCD.
NFW. I refuse to believe it.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:just saw that 657 people in ESPN's bracket challenge correctly picked this Final Four
I am pretty flabbergasted, that seems like way more than would be expected. I have no problem seeing a ton of people having UNC, Gonzaga, and Oregon, but 657 who also had South Carolina?
Yep. Incredible. Then again, the guy (or gal) who made the decision probably wasn't alive for the Heidi Game. Then again again it was a freaking 3 point game in the regional finals between 2 legendary programs!!!!! No excuse short of an evacuation level emergency.Iowan wrote:Fireable offense, unless there was a tornado bearing down on someone.Zip City wrote:I wish my local CBS channel hadn't cut away in the final 20 seconds to give a weather update.
