The only thing I love more than watching mid-majors upset the big time programs are the Vols getting to face double-digit seeds beyond the 1st round

(1) on the bright side, at least now Arizona won't have to worry about having their wins vacated for this tournament

(2) 4 of the 5 North Carolina schools that played have been eliminated- NCCU, Davidson, NCSU, and UNCG

(3) pretty weak first day for my bracket, I was 10/16 (losers for me were Arizona, S. Dakota State, San Diego State (they were SO damn close), St. Bonaventure, SF Austin, & NC State). Took a big roll of the dice on St. Bonvanture and SF Austin and lost. Actually believed S Dakota State and San Diego State were gonna take care of business

(4) PAC 12 0-3 (all teams eliminated)..........but 5-0 in NIT ;)

Between the allegations against Arizona’s coach, all the players leaving/graduating, and zero commits for next year, that program is about to be BAD

Buffalo upset Arizona. OK, that kind of thing happens. Buffalo beat Arizona by TWENTY-ONE??? What the fuck? Anybody watch the game?

Yeah, wwcd I was sorely tempted by San Diego State but luckily didn't pull the trigger.

Historically AZ is feast or famine- either make a deep run or get bounced off the bat. Going back to 1990, they have lost in the first round 9 times ( their seed, starting with this year, was 4, 6, 10, 8, 9, 4, 5, 2, 3). Even in the Olson days they typically were miles ahead of their opponents in talent, but if punched in the mouth, they went soft and wilted. Given that history and this year's particular issues, Buffalo winning isn't an enormous surprise, but them annihilating Zona certainly was

I watched a lot of SD State this year, and they were coming in very hot. After matching Houston KO punch after KO punch at the end, their total collapse on defense on Houston's last possession was especially wretched. They let the man bun dribble uncontested to the basket

Kentucky beat a #12, faces a #13 today, then the winner of #9 vs. #16.

Here's hoping Buffalo can beat them and take away this red carpet path to the Elite 8

Perfect storm of UVA without a star player, UVA being ice cold from the floor, UMBC being red hot from three, and a crowd that got behind the underdogs

UMBC Retrievers were motivated by the utter, disgraceful lack of respect shown to MacGruff in the Geico ad!

They took a tinky-poopoo all over UVA

Hunter came off the bench, 19 minutes and 9 points a game. He may be a key player, but he certainly isn't a star. I don't think his absence last night played that much of a role in the outcome

ETA: I agree completely with everything else you said, Zip

What do y’all think of Webber on the mic? Not a fan here, he seems to be inspired by Gus Johnson but he’s trying way too hard to be like Gus

Reduced to rooting for Syracuse today, after having to do the same yesterday with Ohio State and Houston-- I'm gonna need a very lengthy hot shower
