The TV thread

This forum is for talking about non-music-related stuff that the DBT fanbase might be interested in. This is not the place for inside jokes and BS. Take that crap to some other board.

If you have access to HBO/Max you’re gonna want to watch this. Truly insane story

The weirdest thing to me is just how pointless it was to do in the first place.

My favorite show going. Just awesome in every way, including stellar soundtrack. This season has included Jesse Ed Davis, Nick Drake, J.J. Cale, Dwight Twilley, Suicide, 13th Floor Elevators, Stones, et al. I know a lot here like John Moreland, he has a song in the most recent episode. Unfortunately the show is ending soon

Agree. I've been watching the series since it started. Sad to see it go but I think we'll be seeing more of the young actors involved.

Elva Guerra, who plays Jackie, is on another favorite show of mine, Dark Winds.

Zahn McClarnon, who plays Officer Big, is the star of Dark Winds, playing the legendary Joe Leaphorn from the great series of Tony Hillerman novels. Wes Studi, who plays Bucky, previously played Joe Leaphorn in several movies that appeared on PBS. In the recent episode Frankfurter Sandwich of Reservation Dogs McClarnon & Studi (the two Leaphorn) shared several scenes & it made me feel things

Been binging Mr. Inbetween on Disney plus. Almost done with first two seasons. Really enjoying it. Aussie show about Ray who is working “Security” some where in the Sydney area.

Who is Erin Carter? - Five very good and quite intense episodes completely undercut and ruined by the final two terrible episodes. Very disappointing and while it's to be expected these days, the way the ending set up a follow up season was kind of icky in the sense of feeling manipulated by an amateurish effort.

The Burial - not sure where to post about movies that premiere on tv, but I think here makes the most sense. A typical David v. Goliath tale, based on true events!, not very well told. The writing (mostly) and directorial (some) failures drained a lot of the drama, suspense and "feel good vibe" from the end product. Even so, Jaime Fox and Tommy Lee Jones were born to their roles and it's a pleasure to watch them do their things. Not a terrible way to spend 2 hours, just not nearly as good as it might have been.

Unforgotten - The first 2 seasons made for a tough act to follow, especially given the surprising (shocking?) end to season 2 but I think they did about as well as they could have with it. Not quite at the same level, but still a good watch.

Lupin - 2/3 through the new season and enjoying it very much. Again, maybe not quite up to the previously set high bar, but still very much looking forward to watching the rest.

Only Murders in the Building - Speaking of high bars, season 1 set it, season 2 didn't quite reach it and season 3 was to me just plain boring. Oh well. I think it's pretty much a law of nature that all shtick eventually gets old and that's certainly the case here w/ respect to the lead actors, though of course it's fun to see Meryl Streep and (to an extent) Paul Rudd do their bits to liven things up.

This one's a mystery to me. Didn't watch much of it, but that's because we couldn't, lol. Maybe we should try again.

Absolute sucker for this kind of thing. One episode so far and totally hooked. I won’t spoil how this crazy story ended (it got a decent amount of coverage when the shit went down)

I'm waiting for this to finish before I binge but I'm also a huge cult guy. I watched Escaping Twin Flames on Netflix last weekend. That was pretty good.

"Make the check out to C.A.S.H." :o  I suspect I would be too infuriated to experience the entertainment value but I'll keep it in mind if the exact right moment/mood arrives.

I have not seen any of the Fargos, but am curious. Are the seasons linear or can I just jump on the latest season?

It's a serial show where each season is a self-contained story within the Fargo universe
