The TV thread

This forum is for talking about non-music-related stuff that the DBT fanbase might be interested in. This is not the place for inside jokes and BS. Take that crap to some other board.

A bit smug, but Phoebe Waller-Bridge (the lead) is imminently watchable.

As a North Carolinian, I assume you don't mean the Altamont music festival. Rather you mean Altamont, the fictionalized city of Asheville, NC, as portrayed in Thomas Wolfe's (native son of Asheville) groundbreaking work, Look Homeward, Angel. In Altamont World, the guests get to open microbreweries and treat tourists (aka hosts) with distain and violence.

(I fully expect this joke to fall flat and yet am posting anyway because thinking of Wolfe World makes me laugh.)

Though Thomas Wolfe is my homeboy, I was referring to the Stones concert ;) However, there will still be plenty of disdain and violence in my Altamont world

Asheville as it is now is not the town I was born and raised in (I left in 89, all family still there). You truly can't go home again.....

When they held Woodstock 99 the slogan, was three more days of peace, love, and music. When they hold another Altamont the slogan will be, one more day of bad drugs and violence.

Bravo!

I'm down with your version as long as you find a way to reuse this orchestration.

finished the season last night. end left me with a big WTF? Still all in, though left with far more questions than answers. interested to here what others have to say
Finished Season 1 about a week ago, and am about halfway trough Season 2.

I really like it. The ending of Season 1 left me feeling the same way, WWCD - more questions than answers. Is it time travel ? Is it an alternate universe ? A dream ?

Don't think I am giving anything away by saying that.

I'm hooked.

Haven't started season 2 yet. We almost did last night but instead started the BBC series The Fall. Watched the first two episodes

Just finished it and pretty much have the exact same take. Still, we enjoyed it a lot, though no one got away unscathed

will definitely be knocking out more tonight. Down with a gnarly head cold, watching a bunch of TV is about all I'll be good for

The actor playing Nancy (Mike's sister) looks so much like the impossibly young and cute as a button Karen Allen in Animal House

Just started watching Bosch on Amazon Prime, hadn't really heard of it before but I did read the first couple books of Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch series. We're 3 or 4 episodes in and so far so good.

Is that based on the organized crime world of Naples? There was an excellent film about 7 or 8 years ago on the same subject:

I guess I missed this when you posted. I enjoyed the first season but they chose one of Connelly's weaker efforts to base the main story on and it showed. Still well done, well acted and worth watching and imho it justified further episodes. But it was one of the last shows bryan and i watched together so I haven't even gone back to see if they've done any more.
