BOOMER
Oklahoma lucked out having a badass coach in waiting ready to go as soon as Stoops (who I think was perpetually under appreciated) stepped down. He and Baker are gonna do big things this season.
It is fortunate to have had Riley here but this wasn't just something that was lucked into. Stoops was pretty open about the possibility of "hiring my replacement " when he hired him away from East Carolina. Then when Hermann left Houston after last season Riley interviewed and was offered the job according to reports. He came back to Norman, met with Stoops, and took his name out of consideration for Houston. I'm not saying he knew it would happen this quick, I don't think he did, but he knew it was coming. It's widely believed Stoops made the announcement as late as he did to force the regents to promote Riley instead of initiating a search.
Smart move.

There are few guys in college football I hate and respect at the same time as much as Bob Stoops.

Trying not to complain too much, but I’d be more than happy if UT could get a coach more like Riley or Stoops instead of Butch. I’d like to say beating Florida this weekend would alleviate some of those concerns, but we all know what happened last year.

I would like to make an avatar bet with you but I had to work today and the gators never do good when I work on game day.
Also I don't have a tower where all my pictures are.

For my own sanity I had to give up avatar bets after I lost one back in college and had to spend a month using an Alabama logo as my Twitter header. Not sure my heart could handle using the avatar of a team I know they can beat!

Watched the last 30 minutes of the Tennessee-Florida game. WOW! Couple of great pass plays by Tennessee and then a hail mary for the ages. Amazing finish.

WTF was that defense Tennessee was playing on that play?

Numb is the only feeling to describe it. Should be a hell of a coaching search.

Don't look like Tenn's weekend in Florida will be a total loss (see NFL)

I wanted to make the trip to see both of those games, but couldn’t talk my roommate into it. At this point I don’t think I’ll ever make the trip to Gainesville until I KNOW UT will walk out with a win (AKA possibly never, though I’ve heard the gameday bar scene is fun).

nuts. I'm glad this happened FOR Penn State for once. Seems we've been on the wrong side of the last second score too many times.

Barkley is a beast. The numbers he put up....game never should have been that close to begin with

That last drive, that last play. Tremendous. Wow.

The matchup of Barkley vs Josey Jewell was great to watch.

Jewell grew up 15 miles down the road from me. To say he's the most popular guy in northeast Iowa is an understatement.

Barkley is incredible.

Iowan - that QB for y'all, Park, is ungood.

If he could not overthrow every wide open receiver he had, you could have won that game.

Lanning is fun to watch, though.

He's been outstanding prior to last night.

Texas just has his number. It was his only bad game last year too.

I blame our OC. No screens, abandoning the run game when it was working, and chucking long balls into the teeth of ferocious pressure. This staff is young and it showed

He was bad last night. Statistically worst game of his career.

The hair is brutal

Good friend of mine is a UNC fan, been fun having someone to commiserate with. And to think some of the UT brass wanted Larry Fedora as head coach after Derek Dooley was fired.
