yesterday my wife and I were out having a few beers/lunch at one of our local spots. We were sitting at the bar, jabbering away, when a guy a few stools down told me that he thought my Lou Holtz impression was amazing! So proud, it made my day :D

It's really more me impersonating Dan Patrick impersonating Lou Holtz

So when the news of the Arkansas tight end getting popped for shoplifting--after spending a $450 gift card!--showed up from SECCountry.com on Facebook, I wanted to have a little fun:
On Facebook, I commented, by which I mean I wrote:Surely this is a fake news site. Look at it--SEC Country. What does the Securities and Exchange Commission have to do with sports? And why doesn't the SEC have a dot-gov domain name? I say these people are trying to spoof you into some form of financial fraud.

$450 gift card indeed. Talk about sucker bait!

I strongly recommend against placing any bets via that website. I wouldn't buy steroids or athletic shoes from them, either.
Some people just don't have any sense of humor.

SEC (minus Bama) looks like hot garbage this bowl season, as does the PAC. ACC and Big 12 looking better than given credit for, but don't expect Bristol to acknowledge it.

I don't much follow sports, but even I know about how badly Arkansas is sucking this year and tonight. Someone I know pointed out Coach Bielema promised us this team would play four quarters. Even I knew to ask when they'd play the other two.

Sorry, chuck, but that pick 6 was worth about 2 touchdowns in terms of the impact it will have on the game. UW was doing just fine until then.

Gotta give Georgia their props, I suppose.
Miss St. with a one point win over Miami of Ohio and Tennessee winning a home game over an extremely depleted Nebraska team.........not too good.
I'm thrilled that Bielema and Muschamp shit the bed. They are quite unlikable.

ya, i agree. it wasn't pretty but at least UW didn't totally embarrass themselves. The D was playing very well until they wore out. I have a feeling UW will be a power in years to come. they made an excellent hire for coach & he is a proven winner. + he is doing things the right way. petersen is talking extension & his reasoning is he doesn't want to have a distraction of other schools trying to hire him every year. the only potential blip is i would expect there is at least going to be a conversation with seahawks owner paul allen when pete carroll retires. mr allen is a uw alum & i'm sure he is paying attention. then again, coach petersen doesn't seem to be the type enamored with the nfl. should be interesting. huskies are pretty young & i think they are going to be in the thick of it next year again. this year was a learning experience & a good one overall.

fun game. I think I've posted this before, but Franklin always seemed like a prick when he was at Vanderbilt. He hasn't exactly helped his case lately, either. I just have trouble rooting for a team that he coaches.

I don't get this sentiment at all. He seems like he's having a great time out there and his energy is infectious. I haven't seen a single "prick" thing that he's done at Penn state.

Agree with Zip. I didn't follow him at Vanderbilt, but he's been pretty much a model citizen since coming to PSU.

Pretty good bowl season for the Big 12. 4-2 overall, 2-1 against the SEC, and 2-0 against former members. ACC has done well for itself, too.

Big 10 and SEC were overrated again (and they always will be due to eyeballs), and the Pac 12 was fucking awful.

Rooting for Clemson next week. Bama looked human against Washington, but not sure if I should read too much into that.

Who y'all got Monday night ?

It is all going to come down to the Bama D vs. Watson/Williams and the Clemson O.

I think we handle him better than last year, and come out on top.

I heard that if 'Bama wins they're going to move up to the NFL and the Browns will be relegated.

Well, I'm watching ESPN and I just saw Dierks Bentley do two songs. I mean, he literally can't sing. Truly horrible. I'm torn about who to root for. Don't know if I should cheer for AL to beat my Seminoles' rivals or pull for Clemson to represent the ACC and cement the "best conference in college football this year" title. Can't really root for either team :D
Hope the game is as entertaining as last year's.

well, the night is already lost for me: that eagle didn't come down and use it's razor-sharp talons to rip the face off of each member of that so-called musical group that did the anthem

Any chance of me ever rooting for Alabama went out the window a few years ago when I heard Harvey Updyke speak.

I would have to think long and hard to come up with an opponent that might make me root for Alabama.

Notre Dame is the first that comes to mind; after that, I'm not sure........

well, it's a given that I would root for Tide if the opponent could somehow be dook basketball or the Cowboys ;)

Ouch.

That one hurt.

Great game by Clemson. Watson and those WRs were simply unreal.

Congrats to the Clemson nation.

If Bama fans know anything, it's the heartbreak of collegiate athletics. I'd never want to suffer through that kind of a let down.

Don't worry: unless you change teams, you aren't gonna get close to enough to a championship let down to ever suffer it
