I stuck a bunch of chewing gum in an orange peel and let it simmer in the sun for a week, then chewed the gum. kids, it's hard to comprehend them

I huffed keyboard cleaner once. Not my proudest moment. We also used to just dry up and smoke whatever wild plants we could find, just to see if we'd get high. Might have been 13 or so. Probably explains a lot.

Although sometimes nothing beats burning one, I mostly vape these days. It's easier on the lungs and the first couple of pulls taste amazing. It also seems that serve a bit different buzz, at least for me. Closer to eating than smoking.
My advice would be to not skimp on buying a vape. The cheap ones are hard to regulate temperature and sometimes take a lot of herbs to get you there. The cheapest good one I've tried is the Magic Flight Launch Box. As far as handhelds go, the Pax Ploom is amazing. If you want a vape for group sessions, the Volcano is the best--It's good enough for Willie Nelson.

All this is correct.
Be aware that many cheaper gadgets are called "vaporizers" but are actually just combustion by way of electricity. A battery powered bowl.
The Grenco G Pro is on parr with the flight box for price ($120ish) and performance. Just a little slicker. My only criticism is that the lowest setting is too low to do much of anything and the hottest takes upwards of 90 seconds to heat up. Which is fine except that I turn it on, put it down and then forget to check it until its already turned itself off and cooled down. But for carrying in your pocket and being discreet it's great. I think I like my buddy's Launch Box a little better but it's less pocket friendly.
The Pax Ploom is the holy grail but will cost you close to $300.
My take is that if you like to enjoy the best part of the high spectrum from quality herbs, vaping is great. I find that I get all the positives and none of the negatives from imbibing and am fine jumping on my bike or doing tasks that take some presence of mind (Admittedly, I'm a light weight. Everyone's different). If you like to get heavily herbalized and/or appreciate the low end of the spectrum you'll probably go through a larger quantity to get there and have to hit more often. Just based on my metabolism though.

The ZenPen is a cool gadget. You don't even have to push a button, just pull. But it's for liquids only.

Picked up a hotbox a month ago. Seems like a slightly different mellower effect (affect?!) (agreed, similar to eating) and it's a little more work than just torching up. Very good taste though- going back is like licking an ashtray at first. Thanks for your input.

Today marks the 14th anniversary of the first time I got successfully got high.
Weed hasn't been that big a part of my life (never really identified as a stoner other than the last year of high school, I guess) but it was always part of life during college and makes the occasional appearance now and then. The problem for me is that it just knocks me out anymore. I get tired, hungry, and lazy. Every once and awhile I come across a strain that gives me a more energetic mental high. I think if I lived somewhere where it was legal and I could source that particular type of strain (as opposed to sluggish body high type) I would probably imbibe more often.
But that day after school in 2001 was a hell of a lot of fun. A lot of cheap McDonald's cheeseburgers met their maker.
