it's been tempered by two weeks of European weather (cool and rainy France and England; cold and sometime rainy Iceland)

all good. high and dry.

thanks for the good wishes.

many others not so lucky. massive flooding for a state that is used to massive flooding. water still rising throughout the area.

Our corner of the upper Midwest has turned into a rain forest. We've had 3x our average annual rainfall since August 1st alone. Bad windstorms and tornadoes in the area last night knocked over a bunch of corn. So now we have down corn, that will take forever to pick, that we won't be able to get at for, at a minimum, a week. And that's if it ever quits raining which the long term forecast doesn't indicate.

I want to kick climate change deniers in the dick right now.

our rainfall year to date is less than 17 inches and I will be stunned if we got any measurable rain until late October/early November..... if we're lucky

And for those who don't know the area. Chico and the region overall are huge AG producers

last night was about as wintery as it gets here: it was 36 at 7:30 PM. Typically we don't drop below 40 except overnight.

Snow day in Memphis and much of the midsouth. Wind chills are gonna as low as -10 tonight, that's about as wintry as it gets here. The great Kevin Gordon summed up winter weather for us southerners with this song.....post Robbie member of the Band, Ron Eoff, on bass. I actually met him at a Levon show in Nashville years ago. Nice guy.

Today may have been the coldest I've ever seen it during daylight hours here in Chico--27 at 9:30--in the 21 years we've lived here. It will occasionally get into the low 20s here but it's ALWAYS over night when we're in bed.

However, next 10 days forecast shows lows between 40-50 and highs in mid-50s

Local forecasters are calling for it to potentially get down to as low as 0° in the wee hours of Monday morning. By the end of the week, they're projecting highs in the mid-60's.

We seem to be stuck in this pattern where we have a couple days of subzero weather, then warm to the high 30's before crashing back down to subzero.

Basically this means that all the snow we got in December melts for a day or two and then turns into glare ice.

we hit 90 today for the first time this year, later than usual. We didn't even have a lot of days over 80 up to now. Forecast for rest of week is 90, 93, 91, 79, 70, and 70. If this is a typical year we may get a little rain around Memorial Day but otherwise it'll be almost totally dry until November

Our weather is pretty strange right now. We haven't hit 90 yet, coming close a couple of times, but we've had the typical spring storms and winds. We've had more days in the 70's in April than I can recall since I've lived here, typically we 80 around 4/1 and go up from there, and we've had several days in the 60's including tomorrow which is supposed to be a high of 62. Hey Mother Nature, your shit's fucked up.

Very windy and rainy here. Got up to the 80's a few days, then the rains come and drops down to the 50's. Up and down we go, typical for April/May in Ohio

We only had one death in Arkansas from the flooding--a little ten-year-old girl swept away by the flood as she was climbing a fence. Her brother survived--but there's been beaucoup damage all over the place. I have folks in the country and I think here in Little Rock who are still without electricity.
The sooner we put those assholes in the grave&piss on the dirt above it, the better off we'll be

We've been up and down since February, when all the snow melted the first time. Then it snowed a bunch. Then it melted. Then it snowed a bunch. Then it got to 80 in March. Then it got to 28 in April. And it rains. And it rains. And it finally gets nice enough to plant some corn for a day. Then it rains. Then it's 30 degrees over night in May.

Everyone agrees that the weather is wacky, but half of the folks won't say the Double C term if their lives depended on it.

yesterday was a perfect example of the duality of the NorCal central valley thing. It's pretty flat here in Chico, elevation averages about 150 feet here in town, but the foothills are not far away to the east. So I'm driving around town, heading east, and while it was 93-95 degrees in town, I could see numerous large patches of snow up in the foothills

We've had an actual spring in the midsouth this year. They've been hard to come by over the last few years.
Plus, there have been no huge tornado outbreaks.
