The West is a bloodbath. I think the Hawks get by the Blues in 6 or 7. They are catching the Blues at a perfect time as they stumble down the stretch. The following series against Colorado could definitely prove to be tougher.

If I had to take a flyer on the Stanley Cup Finals I would say inverse last year. Boston in 6 over the Hawks. But I wouldn't be surprised by anyone coming out of the West. I think this is Boston's year though regardless of who the play.

I think I'm with you here, although I do think the Blues are a tougher opponent than Colorado despite the regular season record. It all comes down to two factors for the Hawks in the playoffs; 1) Are Kane and Toews healthy and ready to play at 80% or above? 2) Do the Hawks play their game and skate as opposed to opponents drawing them out of their game in an effort to muscle them? If the answer to both is yes, the Hawks should win the West, if it's no to either or both you can't honestly say their chances are very good. Oh, and I agree on Boston although the NHL playoffs are the oddest in sports.

Still go by what I've been calling all year: Chicago/Boston Final. Would love a Chicago/Philly matchup instead. Go O&B!

up 3-1 on the road and then pissing it away is a real bad way to start a series. Hoping the Jackets can pull out at least one at home, but this is a rough start

I was doing backflips when it was 3-1, but then the Pens really showed their experience down the stretch.

Well that brought a tear to this Canadian girl's eyes...

As did Carey Price's goal tending last night. He let in 25% of the shots made on him. Sigh...

Exciting hockey on the ice though. If our guys can keep playing like that and Price can start playing, our play-off season may not as short as expected.
His facial expression is terrifying. He's basically the equine Chucky.

I don't follow the NHL at all, but I'm looking forward to sitting in a box for tonight's opening game with Chicago/St. Louis.
Just put the goddamn record on and enjoy it

Enjoyed watching the games last night. Fell asleep in the 3rd period of the Ducks/Stars. Woke up at 4am- lights still on, contacts still in, tv blaring some infomercial. I'm not in playoff shape.

Totally agree with you there, only you lasted longer than me. I only made it through the 1st period of the Ducks/Stars.

3OT loss for the Hawks in game 1. They were pretty awful after the 1st period

Kind of how I felt when they gave up the tying goal with 90 sec left in regulation. Ouch.

Looks like this gif will come in handy for my reaction to last minute and/or last second goals.
Keep shooting yourself in the skate Hawks. Ugh

Yeah, that gave me goosebumps. On the other hand, the Bruins did not give me any bumps and Lucic played like a gutless punk in Game 1.

So disgusted at the Blackhawks today. All they have to do is play their game and they win both those games, instead they let St. Louis play the style they wanted. For shame Hawks, for shame.

3 games for Seabrook. It is what it is. No point in complaining.

Hole dug. Climb out.

Play Hawks style hockey. Make periods only 18min long & we'll be just fine

Bruins came out FLYING in the first period. Hopefully the can maintain that intensity over the next 40 minutes.

That Seabrook hit was bad. I fucking love physical hockey, but there is a line and the great players know where it is.

Between giving St. Louis a power play at the end of regulation with a one goal lead, and his subsequent suspension, the Seabrook hit might have been the decisive moment of this series.

TC's right on with his analysis. The Blues basically had an entire period worth of power plays on Saturday.
