Got some George and eggnog, yum!
I just saw this post. I love egg not, but I love it so much that it’s probably best that I only drink egg nog at Christmas. My wife hates egg nog but makes my family’s recipe for me every Christmas!

Re: What's Everyone Drinking?
I’ve been googling “cocktails” pretty often, and I just attempted to make a Bees Knees.
I used straight honey, and I think that I should have used “honey syrup”. The honey stayed at the bottom of the shaker, and I basically had gin with a splash of lime juice. Now I like gin, but I ain’t enough of a man for martinis...I like gin and tonic.
I basically ended up with cold gin with a splash of lime.
I believe a significant correlation exists between time spent in quarantine and the number of times that I post on 3DD!

Bob will remember RedCelt from the last couple of HC beer shares. He's the guy who showed up this year with some mighty fine home-brew and was around to help finish off that cup of bad watermelon rum that I insisted we all had to finish instead of dumping into a storm drain.
He shipped me this for Christmas:
I started quarantine Wednesday when my stepson who lives with us tested positive, likely picked up from his restaurant/bartending job. Stepson's symptoms have been mild and I have none so far. I had two slow sippers yesterday and two again today out on the back porch.

Re: What's Everyone Drinking?
Our local distillery has been strictly gin--and probably the best botanical flavors I've had. But, they've also been working on whiskey. And, it's finally coming to fruition. They're basically printing $$. Each offering goes on sale and sells out in less than 20 minutes. Their latest offering is the Winter Solstice and it is delicious.
If any of you come up to Juneau, we'll have a tasting party of all their stuff. This is certainly our most balanced whiskey to date - all of the stuff contributing to the flavor profile have come together and blended beautifully. Single Malt Whiskey fans will be reminded of Sherry Cask heavy hitters like Aberlour A'bunadh, incredibly sweet, a touch of alcohol heat, and a nose that is straight up luxurious. Non-Single Malt Whiskey fans will be like "A'bu-huh???" - but, if you like bourbon, there will be really familiar notes of caramel and oak and vanilla there with this added layer of all the good parts of raisins, but none of the icky parts (if you are impartial to raisins like me, but they do smell really good). And, if you aren't a whiskey person, well, the bottle will look really pretty on your shelf. Or make a great gift for a whiskey person. Or, tempt you into opening it, trying it, and becoming a whiskey person.

NEBCO is canning these now. Headed down to their brewery a few days ago and bought a case.

Hit one of the many local breweries around here yesterday and one of their outside tap options was Pseudo Sue! Have consumed several tall boy cans over the years (thanks, Iowan!), but this was my first opportunity to try it on tap. Fantastic beer!

It amazes me to see their spread hit nationwide. There's a beer thread on a Big 12 sports message board I'm on, and the Texans have started to get TG products down their way. They're enjoying the hell out of it too!cortez the killer wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 1:39 pm

On the flip side of this, Maine Beer Co. has started distributing to Wisconsin. I'm about an hour from the border and get over there semi regularly. It's been nice to find those bottles on the reg.

I've been able to purchase TG stuff in cans for over a year now here in CT. That was the first I've seen it on draft.Iowan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 12:43 pmIt amazes me to see their spread hit nationwide. Maine Beer Co. is great. I actually hit the brewery last February when I went up to Portland, ME to see The Truckers.

I think my only previous exposure to Maine Beer Co was from our trades. Always loved it, and was absolutely ecstatic to see it in the Midwest.

I've bought this a few times over the last few months, and picked up a 6 this afternoon. Good stuff out of Huntsville, AL.
Back of the can has the phrase from Hank's song, but I always get a Link Wray song stuck in my head when I buy these.
