What's Everyone Drinking?

This forum is for talking about non-music-related stuff that the DBT fanbase might be interested in. This is not the place for inside jokes and BS. Take that crap to some other board.

I bet that Double Red was amazing, BK. Ninkasi makes great beer.

It was excellent. Nice balance of hops and malt. I think I sent you a Ninkasi in the past (not certain). Is their stuff available back there?

Got this one in a trade with a friend over the weekend. This one is really hopped! Continuing my fascination with the beers of Oregon.

Unfortunately, it isn't. You sent me a a bomber of the Tricerahops last year & when I was out in Portland last summer I indulged in several Ninkasi treats.

Draft, eh? Sounds amazing. I may have to pick up a 4-pack of Deviant tallboys for the Bruins game tonight.

Not drinking at the moment, but I'm pretty sure my new favorite beer is the Peanut Butter Porter by Beer Engineers. They are a fairly new and small brewery here in Alabama. I got a growler of the PBP about 3 weeks ago on my way home to the Shoals as I was passing through Birmingham. I had seen ads for Hop City online and knew that I needed to stop there. So anyway, I saw the Peanut Butter Porter on tap and pulled the trigger since it combined two of my favorite things. I drank it last weekend and have been thinking about it ever since.

So we went back to Bham yesterday for the Shakes/Dawes show and I was bummed because they didn't have it on tap at Hop City this week. I picked up a couple of other bombers and was kinda bummed out. After killing some time for a couple of hours, we stopped by another place called Highland Package on the way to Sloss and they had it on tap there. Totally made my day. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to start driving over to Huntsville (only about an hour away) or Bham (a little over 2) just to get this beer. You can't get beer to go here in the Shoals.

Starr Hill is from Charlottesville, VA. I'd never heard of them but they were doing a tasting at my local bottle shop last week so I picked up a 12 pack. So far I've had the Pils and the pale ale, both very good. Been very into pilsners lately. Perfect for summer.

I'm heading into NYC tomorrow for Savor 2013. Looks really cool. More of a beer and food pairing event rather than a straight up beer fest. Tickets start at $170 but luckily I got one free
