Explosions at Boston Marathon Finish Line

This forum is for talking about non-music-related stuff that the DBT fanbase might be interested in. This is not the place for inside jokes and BS. Take that crap to some other board.

You are so right. It will get politicized on the boob tube soon enough. Let's please not do it here.

Tomorrow is "wear Boston" day. Wear something bostonian to express solidarity, concern, depression, whatever (ummm, that's my interpretation, don't think it's official). Don't know if this has spread beyond the boston area, but if not, what the heck, we can spread it.

I have Red Sox Ortiz t-shirt jersey that I wore when I used to coach my son. I'll wear it tomorrow proudly.

An old Dropkick Murphys shirt was the best I could muster, but, turns out it didn't matter 'cause the weather kept me around the house all day anyhow.

I've owned two Bostonian articles of clothing in my life: 1) A Drew Bledsoe jersey from the mid-90's (Uncle is from CT and a Pat's fan; tried to convert me), 2) an old Dropkick Murphy's shirt. Haven't seen either in 10 years. I have no clothing related method for supporting Boston, but damn it if you guys aren't on my mind.

I tip my beer towards to the East.

Are u in Iowa County Australia? If not, you'll have another chance tomorrow (IOW Friday) :) ;)

The wife and i were discussing sartorial options and it turns out we have a lot of choices, virtually all related to sports teams, unless you want to consider BC gear to be academic and not sports.

Cortez, after Sweet Caroline at Yankee Stadium the other night and the USA chant at Boston Garden following the Star Spangled Banner, whether you want to break out that shirt tomorrow is strictly between you and your conscience.

On lockdown. This is freaky and more than a little crazy. Not exactly scary (center of things still a few miles away) but kind of.

Sirens going by very regularly.

The MIT portion of this is very mysterious and scary (did that officer break up an attempted bombing? ) and the clip of the "shootout" is right out of the movies. It's hard to grasp the enormity of this thing.

Why does it seem to be OK to circulate the picture of the guy with both legs blown off? I understand that along with the carnage it also shows some awesome good samaritan-ing, but I'd put it about on par with video of 9/11 jumpers. Not cool.

Surreal for sure. Speaking of your brother, for those who don't know, this is a very populated area - not a lot of multi story buildings, but 1, 2 & 3 family houses packed pretty densely; much more urban neighborhood than typical "suburb".

And speaking of all that, it turns out that my son lived literally across the street from these guys in Cambridge for a year (the 410 Norfolk St address that was highlighted in the news a couple of hrs ago). All i can think of is what if he had an argument about a parking spot or a party w/ the wrong person?
