This is more of an appreciation by absence of negatives.

1. So having down's syndrome wasn't enough? You had to give the kid cancer too, God?
2. There isn't a lot much sadder than seeing a kid w/ cancer laughing and being courageous as all get out, then looking down and seeing the 2 artificial legs.
3. Unless it's seeing a baby barely old enuf to walk w/ the telltale tufts of hair and wearing a mask.
4. Why is there never a day when all the treatment beds/rooms at the Jimmy Fund aren't filled?
5. I think the worst part of my son's recurrence is seeing all the sick kids, a never ending cascade of 'em, one sicker or w/ a sadder tale than the next. While it certainly makes me appreciate what we have and where we are in the scheme of things, i am just sick and tired of all the sick children. I thought it would get easier to take over time, but it just gets harder.

So my favorite things are pretty much everything else.

That's tough BTB; I can't stand to see kids suffer. When I worked at Disney World we used to get kids from Give Kids The World coming thru everyday and even now 20 years later I remember that no matter how bad you think your life is, it could be a lot worse.

1. Mom refused to be intabated so that is a good sign, (her willing to argue is a good sign)
2. Mom is sitting up-right ina chair and obviously speaking
3. They are working on her heart issue, then on to the build up of fluid around her lungs
4. She wants no visitors today (Wed) she wants all of us to be at my neices' first dance receital.
5. Mom being very bossy while it can be extremely annoying it still feels good at this time.
