past FIFA (world cup) NOW: le tour '10

This forum is for talking about non-music-related stuff that the DBT fanbase might be interested in. This is not the place for inside jokes and BS. Take that crap to some other board.

my friend and i were talking about that word one night over text message, i had to look up the conversation and this is it word for word: (if you didn't think i had problems before, this will defintely enlighten you)

my friend starts off the conversation

did you see crazy shart tonight?
no i saw sharter island
shartner's list?
too sad, how stella got her shart back
it took 500 days of sharting
dead sharter's society moved me
raiders of the lost shart
fatal shart traction
WTF-that one is questionable? move on
reservoir sharts
shart the revenge
another stretch
500 first sharts, starring drew Dingleberry
i've been shartless in seattle
the deer sharter
the divinci shart
goldsharter
smoky and the shart
from paris w/sharts
interview w/a shartpire
stupid
a few good sharts
shartanic
OMFG LOL dumba**
good will sharting

and the last message
tramps like us, baby we were born to shart

we did songs a few days later but i'll only post if anyone requests

from world cup to
bad wagers to
NED vs Espana
to swamp in crocs and jorts
to sharting...

full circle
for those who care

it is the year of the beautiful Spaniards

first the world cupImage
then penelope cruz and javier bardem get marriedImage

and now

the tour de france!!!
contador is ....hot. (38 secs. behind)Image
no jinxing
just ride on son, ride on

used to admire me some lance
still respect his strength and philanthropic works for survivors
incredible athletic specimen
one of the greatest athletes of all time
however
this latest comeback reeks of pathetic-ness

what is really crazy is...
even at 38th or 50th or 77th place
wherever he finishes
it will look like shit and 'spoil' his rep.
yet it is such a minute percentage of the population that could even qualify for the tour, let alone finish!

this race is one of endurance and strength and mental fortitude
shit is for real

even just the fact that you have seen it ( on televison)
puts you in the minority ( the righteous coolest people on the planet minority! 8-) ) in the USA
it is an epic event of endurance. physically and mentally.
it is this incredible combination of strength, timing, strategy, drive, teamwork and individual excellence.

if you cared to, and started following it, you would be hooked.
honestly, in does not translate as well on television.

your bike sounds very cool by the way.! hope you always wear a helmet. :ugeek: seriously.

No Doubt! Alberto looked very good ont he attack...
Andy's mechanical couldn't have come at a worse time,
Thursdays stage should be the climbing duel i've been waiting for...
8 seconds can evaporate quickly.
Every TdF needs Drama, and now we have it...
take a deep breath and throw yourself into it with everything you got...it's great to be alive!

5. 5th closest tour finish ever. 39 seconds. ( this after 3,642 kilometers= 2, 263miles: this is approximately the distance from chicago to la, cali. on a bike!)
4. 4 weeks of awesomeness
3. (effectively tomorrow) 3tour wins
2. 2 incredible athletes battling neck and neck ( 8 seconds separated them for the last week of the race) all the way through stage 19
1. there is only 1 tour de france.

Joelle, does the dirtiness of this sport not bother you? I used to love to watch it but when the allegations first started ten years or so ago and then the lingering questions about Lance Armstrong it lost it's allure to me. Yes it's a grueling event, and maybe it's gotten cleaner but when it's biggest star (Armstrong) is about to be indicted it seems tainted. Really looking for a serious take here since you really know your stuff. Am I wrong to feel this way?
We call him Scooby Do, but Scooby doesn’t do. Scooby, is not involved
