I was thinking the same thing! I have no idea what the fuck he's talking about.

Finally a TD! I was beginning to think the Bears just didn't want those silly touchdowns...

Worst 7-3 team I've ever seen in my life. Then again the NFL is godawful anyway. I still don't think they'll make the playoffs with the Eagles, Jets, Patriots and Packers at Lambeau on the schedule. Should beat Detroit without Stafford and might beat the Vikings again but even that's doubtful. Right now I'd guess they finish 8-8.

Re: NFL 2010
best part of last night was definitely listening to matt millen praise rod marinelli as "the best coach i've ever been around." yep, that's the same rod marinelli that millen hired to lead the godawful team he assembled to an historic 0-16 record just two seasons ago. unebelievable that matt millen gets paid to talk about football on three different networks.

do you think differently Zip? I mean these guys just don't pass the eye test. Plus the arrogance of Lovie Smith makes my blood boil.

I expected the team to suck this year, and since they've done well, I'm just happy to go along for the ride. Winning is fun, and I refuse to live out the season waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Re: NFL 2010
Well Zip I guess the only thing I wanted out of this year was for Lovie and GM Jerry Angelo fired. Doesn't look like that's going to happen and there is no way this current regime is capable of ever winning a Super Bowl and that's the only thing that matters. So this deceiving 7-3 season is depressing.

with that mentality, the only way the Bears win a Super Bowl is if the McCaskey's sell the team

Well this town actively rooted for Bill Wirtz to die so the Blackhawks would succeed and when he eventually did they won a championship. A little harder to root for the death of a nice old lady though.

a nice old lady who didn't want to fire Dick Jauron because she liked sitting with him at church.

Re: NFL 2010
I really need to stop listening to sports radio. I had music on at home all morning and was in a great mood but turned on the talk while out running an errand. This morning the talkers were talking about the very real possibility that Bear's GM Jerry Angelo will retire after this season. This gave one of the guys some hope and he mentioned how this should give Bear's fans some hope that they might bring in a guy who can actually draft guys in the first round who will become stars (Angelo has been terrible at it). The other guy quickly retorted that was no hope for that because Angelo had already brought in his replacement in player personnel guy Tim Ruskell and that everyone in the league knew that Ruskell was a dottering idiot. This led to a discussion how it's hopeless and the Bears would always suck. And I need this kind of thing why?

Re: NFL 2010
Yeah well, sports used to be fun. now with scandals, and everybody saying this guy is a piece of garbage, that guy is a cheat, the other guy is using PEDs or whatever the buzz of the week is. There's really so little joy it in anymore that it makes me really sad. it's gotten to the point that I'm happy there is no Bears game today because I can watch the games without spiking my blood pressure.

Re: NFL 2010
Yeah, well just this week my Terps dropped 2 tough ones in hoops, a 4th qtr meltdown in a must-win game vs. Fla. St (assisted of course by a botched replay call and punt that hit my ding dong in the back for a turnover), a shootout loss by the Caps vs. Flyers and don't get me started on the Wizards.
Ravens today vs. Cupcake Carolina should prove to be anything but that. I've got a lot of practice @ disappointment.

Once again, the Pats prove that it's best to be both good AND lucky, but hey, it's a W.

Bring on the Bears. Is there anyone on this board from Chicago?
If you don't run you rust
Re: NFL 2010
Is the question "is anyone on here from Chicago?" or "are there any Bears fans on here?"Clams wrote:Bring on the Bears. Is there anyone on this board from Chicago?
These may be two totally different questions.

Re: NFL 2010
Ok wise ass, Bears fan here and I've given up sports radio for the week so I'm not listening to everyone saying this one is a loss before it's played. Nope I'm being positive this week. So bring on those Eagles mollusk man. GO BEARS!

I had no idea that the Bengals are this bad. That was one atrocious performance.
OTOH, i did have an idea that tom brady might be that good.

Can you imagine if we have a Eagles v Falcons showdown in Atlanta? The way things are headed, these two teams look the best. Then again, this season has been nothing but strange twists.
I am so there.

Hell of a day for football today. Some great games. I'm thinking positive thoughts about the Bears.

I'm heading to the Ravens-Bucs game. I sure hope those upstarts don't derail my playoff scenarios.

That was one hell of a game. If the Bears can figure out a way to beat Vick 2.0 it'll make it awfully tough for GB to make the playoffs. of course that's a tall order...
