R.I.P. George Jefferson

This forum is for talking about non-music-related stuff that the DBT fanbase might be interested in. This is not the place for inside jokes and BS. Take that crap to some other board.

He's "Movin on Up", good one ha? I stole that from one of my high school buddies on Facebook. Yes to a "dee-lux a apartment in the sky".

I find it sad that this got more responses than Sally Ride dying yesterday...

I heard this on the radio yesterday. Prayers for the family. George Jefferson did not like white people. But man he made it funny. Good show. Sad to hear this.

I find it hard o believe he was only 74. That means he was 34 years old playing the father of a 20 something year old. He sure looked older than that. And living in El Paso?

The beauty of this show was that it was the other side of the coin from Archie Bunker and All in the Family. George and Archie were essentially the same guy but of different races and both Hemsley and Caroll O'Conner made us laugh at these men forced to move forward in a changing world. In doing so they made us laugh at ourselves, the importance of which should never be forgotten.
