American Zen

This forum is for talking about non-music-related stuff that the DBT fanbase might be interested in. This is not the place for inside jokes and BS. Take that crap to some other board.

Depends on where you're at - around here the "s" is definitely not silent.

I want sex and affection
Want everyonee in this room here to look in my direction
I want a man with lips just like Mick Jagger,
Rod Stewart's hair and Keith Richards' stagger
That's what girls want

The same friend who made the "I don't want to make the A-list comment" was also responsible for the following words of wisdom.
It was a few years ago and I was training for my black belt. They were really putting us through the wringer both physically and mentally so I asked him, a triathlete, for advice on staying focused regardless of whatever physical misery one is in.

He said two things that have stuck with me.

He said always remember, no matter how hard it gets, trust your training, trust your courage and trust your will. I liked this and it became my internal mantra.

The he added one more thing...he says "Oh, and if you reach the point where that's not cutting it always remember HTFU.

HTFU? I ask.

Yeah, Harden The Fuck Up.

Words to live by in this cruel world.

the wisdom of the Smothers Brothers:

Tom: You can tell who's running the country by how much clothes people wear, see?
Dick: Do you mean that some people can afford more clothes on, and some people have... less on? Is that what you mean?
Tom: That's right.
Dick: I don't understand.
Tom: See, the ordinary people, you'd say that the ordinary people are the less-ons.
Dick: So who's running the country?
Tom: The morons.
