Seems more like full flow to me.
What used to be is gone and what ought to be ought not to be so hard

Wadin' through my basement yet again (it was just drying out from Irene). This is my 6th straight day of dealin' w/Mr. fuckin' Lee (as I got home from NOLA just in time for his Maryland appearance). Schools closed today due to flooding. Sounds like it's even worse in PA & NJ. This has been a shitty coupla weeks of weather. And Texas is dyin' of thirst

Re: 3DD Hurricane Party
I feel like I am on rinse and repeat. Basement took on water AGAIN last night due to PECO and their wonderful inability to keep electric service working. Didnt even finish cleaning up from the first round. Seriously Mother Nature, enough IS enough!!!
I just want to stay in that better time and place....
Re: 3DD Hurricane Party
One of my pumps took a crap. Ain't one to be found in 3 counties. My last pump has been runnin' for about 30 straight hours. When that one gives out it's gonna get ugly(er).

I know the feeling. One of my pumps isnt working either. Not a clue why but it keeps blowing the breaker. At this point I really dont care anymore. Will just have to plug in the pool pump and run a garden hose out the windown if or when it ever stops raining. Hope your situation doesnt get any worse!

I hope the sun comes your way, too, lynne. Good thing I know how to swim.

Re: 3DD Hurricane Party
Just whipped up a batch of Rev Matt's Hurricane Chili. Added a jalapeno and used turkey instead of ground beef. Will fire up the crock pot in the morning.

RevMatt wrote:Easy recipe:
Cut up two yellow onions
One Red Pepper
One Green Pepper
Cook two pounds ground beef
4 cans of diced tomatoes
3 Cans kidney beans
two cloves of garlic
Two packages of McCormicks Chili seasoning
Dump everything into the crock pot
Set for ten hours
Go into the livingroom and put on The Dirty South, preferably on vinyl. "The clouds started forming at 5:00 PM ..."
Completely unrelated to Hurricane Isaac, but I'm brewing up a batch of Rev Matt's Hurricane Chili tonight. Yum. Might as well bump the thread while I'm at it.

excellent charity for disaster relief. i've done some research & this one has a very good rating & 97% of what comes in, goes out. really good percentage compared to others.

Concerned about the Swamps. They are right in the path.

I've always said our band could do a helluva cover of this epic, seems like a perfect time to work it into the set

It looks like this thing stayed just far enough off the coast to avoid the worst case scenarios for Florida. It's still not good and the storm isn't over but I don't even think the eye wall has made landfall.

Re: 3DD Hurricane Party
I was a freshman in college at UNC-W in 1984. First week or so of the fall semester we got rocked by Hurricane Diane. As I recall it wasn't the most powerful hurricane ever, but there in the midst of it when it hit was one of the more intense experiences of my life up to that point. The wind truly did sound like a train as it ripped through campus. Even worse than the destruction was having to hear Rock You Like a Hurricane played for weeks on end- no one should be subjected to that
I hope to never go through that again and hate that anyone has to, hope all the 3DDers impacted by this get off easily

wrekkr is still around. Had quite a bit of storm damage at the Shakk a week or so back but it, and wrekkr, are still standing.

Thanks for the thoughts yall. While Marina was scared shitless of what was going down, George let me stand in the front yard a couple of times just to take it all in.Tequila Cowboy wrote:By the way the Swamps made it through. People and pets all OK.

If memory serves, Smarty made a goodbye post here and hasn't posted since (aside from an AOTW thread for Carl Perkins). I always enjoyed her contributions to the board. I remember the conversation that involved her departure. Everyone has to do what they feel is best for themselves.Smitty wrote:I keep in touch with garnersound and BC and somewhat with Penny and RevMatt (who's Bloodkin's merch guy last I heard); no clue about Smarty or wrekkr, but it ain't like I miss either of them anyway.Zip City wrote:RevMattClams wrote:Bump

Seriously yall, our friends bogart and coach were under mandatory evacuation and have not been aloud back on the island yet. Let's hope for the best. And over there in Titisville Sue's house survived an almost direct hit.
